Mordin was by far my favorite character from the moment I first met him. He was character that was written smartly for smart people.
The good writing was still evident in my ME3, but lack of Beattie's voice and slight change of personality ruined ME3's Mordin for me. My brain kept telling me "this is not the same Mordin I knew" etc. The feel just wasn't there. Replacement VA did decent enough job, though he didn't get the pause sniffs right at all. I can't fathom why Beattie was the only significant VA changed during the trilogy. If I remember right he wasn't even asked to do ME3, even though he loved playing Mordin in ME2 and loved the level of professionalism at Bioware.
When Mordin almost died in my first ME2 playthru suicide mission I was screaming "Noooo!!" and clenching the controller hard, in ME3 he was just a sidekick who died, unfortunate and good ending but I didn't feel as emotionally connected to him anymore. Its a shame.
Hasn't this bothered anyone else? I was expecting kind of a ****storm here but only few comments. I understood Mordin was pretty well loved character, maybe not up to Garrus or Tali level, but he didn't divide opinions either, I thought this would have bothered more people, and most of my friends who have played ME3 agree with me that something is off with ME3 Mordin.
