I'm greatly dissapointed that Beattie did not return, but the new guy doesn't deserve hate for that. He does a decent enough job that I can tell its not Beattie but it is believably Mordin.

I can accept that with a heavy heart.

Indeed.

Ditto. And it's still Mordin - his character is there, as well as his charming way of speaking. So, I can accept it. All we can do is thank Mr. Beattie for making Mordin...well...Mordin. <3

True - it was obviously not Beattie in the demo but the voice actor did a good job to speak like Mordin did in ME2.

Well maybe Beattie had no time for ME3 because he was stuck in a different project? Do we know something more about that?

We will never likely know. Beattie isn't speaking, for one.

I heard somewhere that Meer did Mordin? Dunno whether that's been confirmed or denied yet.

I wouldn't be surprised. It occasionally takes me out of the game when playing manShep with how frequently you can run into Meer on Meer dialog.

I think it is. I heard they used an equalizer, too, to make Meer sound like Beattie.

That new voice of Mordin in the demo, make me skip all his scenes, it's just don't fit and is anoying!

It's a shame they didn't bring back Michael Beattie, I wonder why!? :|

I just played the end of the genophage mission. I... I have never been so heartbroken in my life.

"Would have liked to run tests on the seashells."

So many manly tears everywhere. Good-night, sweet doctor...

Yeah, the Tuchanka quest was brutal. Beautiful, but I was sobbing by the end of it...and I knew what was going to happen.

Spoilers Incoming:

Was I the only one unable to 'paragon/renegade' talk Mordin out of it? I had an imported save and had done basically every side-quest up to that point, always picking Paragon, so plenty of Paragon/Reputation. Yet... no option to talk him out of curing the Krogans. My suspicion would be that it was because I had both Eve alive and Wrex alive. Maybe hes only convinceable if one of those two is dead and the situation is less 'viable' for Tuchanka...

I actually clicked it and let me just say the Renegade interrupt ending is... oh man, its rough. Roughest thing I've ever seen in the game. And they make Shepard hate every second of it, which is a nice touch.

Mordin was by far my favorite character from the moment I first met him. He was character that was written smartly for smart people.

The good writing was still evident in my ME3, but lack of Beattie's voice and slight change of personality ruined ME3's Mordin for me. My brain kept telling me "this is not the same Mordin I knew" etc. The feel just wasn't there. Replacement VA did decent enough job, though he didn't get the pause sniffs right at all. I can't fathom why Beattie was the only significant VA changed during the trilogy. If I remember right he wasn't even asked to do ME3, even though he loved playing Mordin in ME2 and loved the level of professionalism at Bioware.

When Mordin almost died in my first ME2 playthru suicide mission I was screaming "Noooo!!" and clenching the controller hard, in ME3 he was just a sidekick who died, unfortunate and good ending but I didn't feel as emotionally connected to him anymore. Its a shame.

Hasn't this bothered anyone else? I was expecting kind of a ****storm here but only few comments. I understood Mordin was pretty well loved character, maybe not up to Garrus or Tali level, but he didn't divide opinions either, I thought this would have bothered more people, and most of my friends who have played ME3 agree with me that something is off with ME3 Mordin.

Mordin's sacrifice was so very well done, indeed. When he started humming to himself "scientist salarian", such contendness with his life and imminent end, that broke me utterly. I couldn't go back to the game for an hour without tearing up inside. Definitely one of the most memorable moments in my gaming life. :-)

You should try not allowing him to cure the genophage... that outcome is memorable too. Terrible, but memorable.

For me the voice was terrible during the SurKesh mission. For some reason it sounded better after that. Maybe if it was Meer then they just messed with it better. Though the singing sounded wrong. Still it was Mordin and after that scene I just wanted to have Shep get an armful of seashells and bring them back to where Mordin died.
