Mordin is awesome! He's a great character, with hilarious dialogu. The Normandy wouldn't be the same without him so I hope he'll be a permanent squaddie in ME3.

Jeff, my friend, you called for more Mordin pictures?
I can comply.
and to answer my own question... I'd have to say that the genophage is completely necessary. to be honest... i think Mordin had the right idea. I do love krogan though.
I'd love to see that he was working on Kepral's syndrome. Fix Thane!

^ Mordin awesomeness flows through the pictures
As for the genophage, I agree too that it's necessary especially during the comingt Reaper wars. Shep need all the help that he can get. What better to do it with Krogan armies at his side and Mordin has the key to it all.

I am all over this thread. Mordin is far and away my most treasured ME character. Revel in the awesome! Also, that comic above is deliciously heartbreaking as well as being packed to the brim with 'aww'.
I did consider 'fic'ing for Mordin once. It was the speech patterns and the jargon that held me off. I found it hard enough writing Kirrahe that one time. X__x
But then, I find salarians in general to be particularly charming. I'm a sneak 'n' snipe so their tactics are more my side of the field than the TOTAL DESTRUCTION of some of the other races.
I'm looking forward to seeing his role in ME3.

Obsydian, my friend, those are splendid pictures! I'm going to create a photobucket account, I've decided, and then I'm going to collect all these wonderful pictures and link everyone to the account on the front page.
I've redecorated slightly for the time being, though.

Hm. Screenies!

So. Genophage data choice will probably play a role to ME3 resolution. Does anyone think Maelon might too?
I just realized that out of all my completed playthroughs he is only alive in one. Just strikes me as a 'Rana Thanoptis' kind of choice - one that has a high likelyhood to bite you in the end. May also be easier on Mordin if he's dead, though I haven't made up my mind about it.
Dorky fact: I didn't realize the paragon trigger to stop Mordin from killing Maelon was there untill my second playthrough. Didn't notice it first time around

Did we ever find out how he lost his one horn on his head?
In LOTSB, after the Shadow Broker is defeated, you can look up info on a lot of people at the information terminal. It does mention about Mordin's injury, and how it happens.

Mordin is such a brilliant character. A perfect balance that makes him both unique and archetypal. And the story about the horn is absolutely fantastic. As is the mission report.

I really have to wonder who they would get to replace Mordin if he died during the SM. In the demos he's shown to be quite key to the Krogan/Genophage matter, so if he's dead who would replace him? My first thought was Maelon (if he's alive) but I'm wondering if Mordins nephew might be a viable replacement.

good questoin, Quin... im' not sure. also, he shows up in the demos. i dunno. perhaps favorite nephew? lol. or Maelon

Anyhow, I'd have to say it'd probably be Mordin's nephew who'd we'd see on Sur'Kesh if he died in a PT.
Of course, I never let Mordin die in any of mine, so I probably will never get to find out firsthand.

He's my favourite ME2 character like Sten is my favourite DA:O character, both for similar reasons actually...
- Sten massacred a whole farmhold in a rage ; out of humility, he refuses to get out of his cage without a reason, yet out of dignity he refuses to die, survives without food for a couple of weeks.
- Mordin created the genophage ; out of dignity he refuses to let guilt take over his life, yet out of humility he keeps fighting for the greater good and accepts the suicide mission.
I like tragic characters moved by the contradictory forces of guilt and survival, those are the most beautiful and lifelike characters IMO.

I wonder if Michael Beattie will be brought back, I hope so. Mark Meer played Mordin well in the demo, but it was obvious that it wasn't the original VA and it just wouldn't be Mordin without Mr. Beattie.
The same applies for D.C Douglas as Legion, although I highly doubt EA would bring him back just for a cameo seeing he is one of the top VA's in the business.
