I think the story surrounding a Prothean squadmate or interactive character would be awesome.
Does anyone else what a Prothean squadmate or interactive character?

I do not, that being said - if they put one in, I would adjust fine and not be "outraged" or something.

Like any prothean is still alive after 50,000 years.
I do think that is a silly idea, but would deal with it.

Maybe as a brain-in-a-vat type thing.ladyvader wrote...

Vigil was still functioning (somewhat) after 50,000 years, so in theory a stasis pod might be able to function that long. If it were well written, I think it could be really fascinating. Vigil's tale was one of my favorite moments in Mass Effect 1.ladyvader wrote...

I like the idea. The protheans were killed, their civilization reduced to nothing, and then humiliated at the end becoming mindless slaves. A last prothean, an avenger - even if, alone, it would be impossible for him to restore his race - would be a nice addition to the team.

I have a good feeling we will be able to interact with a surviving prothean at some point in the game, but I highly doubt it will be a squadmate.

If we're going to see the Protheans, it should be in a vision like the one Shepard saw from the beacon on Eden Prime, Virmire, the Cipher, and that one ME2 N7 mission. Maybe a fill-in-the-blanks kind of thing.
Having one as a squadmate is just plain absurd.

Agree, maybe sheppard find something that he can read or see with the cipher.Hah Yes Reapers wrote...

It seems good. I leave it to them to decide what's better for the game.

Not fussed either way. I use to think the idea was stupid but its not THAT farfetched compared to everything else. I kinda I would prefer they kept the mysterious and you only saw them thru visions and things but they could pull of a squadmate.

Personally, I don't. The Protheans should stay dead and mysterious.

No prothean squad mate and no prothean VI squadmate EDI replacement. They're dead peeps let em' be.

I think it's very-very cliched "dead race isn't really all that dead! They came to save us!".
Cloned/biosynthesed one? Maybe, but why anyone in ME universe would bother to do this. Although, Cerberus with their constant search for ideal soldier could.

I would love to see Protheans--not if they look like Collectors, then I'd never want to see them, but either remnants from a pod/on a video or an ancestor race that's since evolved on a faraway planet where they've been hiding because they know the Reapers are out there? That would be awesome. So awesome.
The Protheans stole my heart in the first game. There was something so moving and epic about them reaching out to us from the past like that. I felt a weird sense of gratitude and admiration... that even in death they tried to protect other, future organic forms of life. It was so unselfish... they knew they were dying, yet rather than wallowing in self-pity or ending it all, they chose to leave a legacy of hope. To believe that someday, someone would hear their story, and learn from it; be saved by it.
To actually be able to speak to a Prothean, after Shepard's amazing connection to them in ME1... that would rock everything ever. I think it would make the last game all the more mind-blowing, if they pulled it off.

Weren't there CDN updates a few months back about new chambers being found in the Prothean ruins on Mars?
The ruins clearly aren't fully explored, and I think Mars has been confirmed as a planet we will be visiting. It's possible we might get to see an unopened chamber in the ruins. It could contain a stasis pod with a Prothean in it. Or a device that Shepard can use to "talk" to a Prothean in a vision.

No. If Bioware did that, I would completely lose faith in the integrity of the writers.
I would also take their jobs.

I'm not sure, It would have to be very well-written and convincing- but I think Bioware could pull it off.

i'd love to see the prothean in ME3, but it will be really silly/dumb if they just dump him into your crew after finding him.
shepard: "OHH LOOK A PROTHEAN!"
prothean: "everyone is dead, so i will help you so it doesnt happen again."
shepard: "OK, LET'S KILL SOME REAPERS TOGETHER!!!!"
-.-
