Support thread to get my pet peeves out of ME3

First, Shepard should not leave cover automatically when changing weapons. Just because I want my assault rifle instead of a pistol does not mean I want to draw fire from all corners of the room.
Second, while sprinting, Shepard should not enter cover automatically. I know its great that you can run straight at a crate and enter cover, but I would rather hit another button than get killed at least once a level because my shepard takes cover against a wall with his back to the enemy while sprinting away.

How do you manage to do that?

Second problem never really affected me due to my playstyle, but I understand your point.

It's not really a bug... but it is a bit of an interface issue. Something we'll be looking at fixing for ME3.

Well then. That explains why that kept on happening. Twas most annoying/fatal.Brenon Holmes wrote...
It's because you're holding down on the stick when you leave the weapon wheel. If you're careful, and make sure you release the stick before letting go of the bumper, you'll notice that it never happens anymore.

At least let me know that the shields even when upgraded won't be cut through like paper as was the case in ME 2.
This isn't a rant, but while playing on Insanity 9 or 10 times, I noticed that. Even when I decided to do the main quest last. I sacraficed the extra dialogue in LotSB just to get the additional shield upgrades first to see how long they would last in the main game and the strange thing is even though I had upgraded fully, it still protected like I hadn't upgraded at all. Thinking it was error on my part, I let my shep become target practice on a hardcore playthrough and experienced the same thing.
If it is possible, can you say at this point that the shielding mechanic has been improved to coincide with the upgrades or has the shielding pretty much remained unchanged? Thanks in advance if you can provide an answer. If not, thanks for reading it.

What are you talking about? The shield upgrade made it possible to not be ripped apart like rice paper in that first fight on the Collector vessel. I loved it.
I loved the challenge of the Insanity playthroughs. But getting hit more times than not depleted the shields even if they were fully upgraded. The balance and strength of the shields felt like having the upgrades were futile.

that got me killed many, many times, so at least it's resolvable. and if the cover and sprint are separate buttons both parts of my request are covered. Thanks Brenon!Brenon Holmes wrote...

That is an annoying problem, though IMO it doesn't require a different key/button to fix it; they just need to make cover less "attractive" or "sticky" to Shepard.

Here's one. It has to do with gun animations.
The animation for how the characters in ME2 wield the Tempest and Locust SMGs is a bit off. It's correct for the Shuriken in that the Shuriken is a handgun. However, the Tempest and the Locust both are equipped with buttstocks and vertifcal foregrips. They are clearly intended to be fired from the shoulder, however Shepard an Co. grip them as they would a handgun.
Frankly, not a big deal. Not even sure I'd call it a pet peeve, just something the devs can change if they have time. If not, I'm not losing any sleep either.

Yeah, I definitely didn't like this in ME2. I didn't play it when it immediately came out so I myself already knew what the layout of the game when I did play. But had I not known that the derelict reaper was basically an endgame timer, I most definitely would have gotten some of my squadmates killed or gotten kelly(iloveher) and my crew killed.
Of course I do want many main story missions and nothing like loyalty missions in ME3.

If squaddies have concerns THEY should come to me! ...not the other way around... Make thermal clips visible, I had trouble seeing them on the floor...
+1 on the ship squad-interaction. Sort of a "Meet me halfway kind of thing." Not really and issue once you know where everyone is stationed, but yeah, if, say Miranda has a problem, she should come to me nor would I be stationed in a particular place either (My cabin)
As far as the thermal clips: they DO say "I'm over here!" They glow when dropped rather or not you can pick them up. Mostly they're glowing red, but they do the white-hot flash to get your attention.

What other math errors are lurking?
Suadmate's armor upgrades NOT available on Garrus' loyalty, and having to save/reload or have Shepard die to get them to show up in the rest of the game!

Yes but then you get the other problem where you stand at a piece of cover mashing A (or whatever you use on PC/PS3) screaming at Shep to use it while they get shredded by enemy fire...or Shep finally gets in cover then right back out because, well, you were mashing A.<_<
