This collection mission seems to be the most overlooked one in the entire trilogy consequence wise. Considering that you scouted enough materials to construct an entire fleet, I would hope that that could help you out in ME3. Something along the lines of, "Thanks for the materials Shepard. Now we have a whole extra ****g fleet to fight the Reapers!" Got any others that you think should have a positive effect?

I was hoping that the knowledge gained from studying Nirali Bhatia's body would provide some effective defense strategies against the Reapers.

precisely, that's why my paragon shep allowed the research. Also the collection assignments did get over looked, but you have to admit they were tedious at best.

If we don't overlook the fact that if someone who didn't waste time on this somewhat tedious side mission was only just in the nick of time to stop Sovereign, then in reality the galaxy would have been lost before you got halfway through your prospecting.

I never saw those "missions" as anything but busy work. Though, if you get something, I certainly want to receive a medal from the Turians while I'm on Palaven for finding all their damn insignias.

I'd like to get something for ANY of those collection missions. Signs of battle, asari writings or the data discs.

Mass effect wiki the quest, it already has had some effect in Mass effect 2 with a news report if you desided for the free food. Troop moral is down due to lack of tech or something.

Not really IIRC his restaurant was on Earth and now the Reapers have probably burnt it to ground so
Free food at Samesh's restaurant < tech against the geth.

They were mere fetch quests. No different to the dreadful Nirnroot crap from Oldblivion and DA's hunting down cannabis leaves.

That and make the minerals gathered on ME2 run be worthy something!

I ended my latest run with some 250k eezo and over 1milion of every other mineral! I wish I could sell them since I depleted all rocks on the universe... It would be a nice monopoly and my Shep would be filthy rich!

damn I hated doing this mission in Mass Effect because you got nothing for it and no Message or anything
in Mass Effect 2 telling you what you did or how you helped by collecting all of them minerals, that *****d me off.

UNC: Valuable Minerals should have given an imported Shep all the minerals s/he needs for upgrades in lieu of planet scanning in ME2 (or at least a huge bonus like the ME2 completion bonus). Would have been the best reward, instead of having to tediously look for minerals in 2 games.

absolutely not. the bunch of random collection sidequests in ME1 should be COMPLETELY ignored import-wise.

they were horrible sidequests that werent fun at all to do. pointless busywork, i dont want to have to find all the minerals, collect all the stupid asari writings and find all the league of one tokens for a good import.

indeed, Shepard should get some type of reward for all the running-around, maybe some new technologies based on the elements?
also, all the minerals in ME2 should transfer to ME3, or at least use them as a plot device: you've donated all your minerals for the war effort, which should have some tangible rewards, like thanix cannons for a few important ships or plating, or more damage for the allied troops

UNC Valuable Minerals should have an added benefit to the Alliance.

I also think collecting all Prothean Artifacts in ME1 should give you a bonus in ME3.

Is it just me or do you get Po'd whenever anyone want's some kind of bonus for doing more than other people?

If I'm not mistaken, that's the ENTIRE POINT OF DOING THESE QUESTS.

Plus they were fun! I loved to imagine how was the crew inside the Mako taking my driving it. I had thousands of sick-bags inside the Mako just in case!

I just finished ME1 ( renegade female soldier shep ) and while i'd like for those quests to matter the bit that really bugs me is that at the end of the game after selling useless/unwanted stuff to get rid of the irritating "You are approaching 150 item" message i had 8.5 MILLION credits.

After import I have 350k credits, so seriously in ME3 i want the chance to **** slap the dude that stole 8.15 million credits from me

I doubt it. It's such a small quest. Probably the most dull and unimportant one in the game. You guys who've completed it are...dedicated, but I don't think it's going to happen.
