I want a quality game, don't care how many discs it takes...I'd rather have 1 or 2 discs of exceptional content, than 5 or 6 discs full of "feathers and dust bunnies" just to make it longer..
That said, more quality AND more content is a good thing.
ME3 on the 360 needs to be at least 5 or 6 discs

Why'd you want that much discs?
When I get a game, I expect it to be good and that it doesn't have too many discs. Just too much of a pain to swap 'em.
Just imagine:
You: Aw yeah, nearly at the boss!
Screen: *insert disc three to continue*
You: XBOX, Y U NO CONTINUE WITHOUT DISC?!
Or...
You: Aw yeah! I just beat the game! Now there'll be an epic vid of what happened afterwards!
Screen: *insert disc six to continue*
You: Either "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" or "FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-"
I don't see how that would work.

This is just my own opinion, regarding BioWare's seeming pattern with Mass Effect games.
ME1 - 1 Disc containing the game data.
ME2 - 2 discs with game data, and you switched back to Disc 1 for your final campaign.
ME3 - I'd wager it'll be three discs, or at least follow ME2's pattern so we switch out discs twice.
Of course, that's just my own opinion. I'm sure BioWare will reveal the number of discs, oh, about three months before release. Or just one week, to make us suffer. (jk)

I hate multiple discs. You got to keep track of them all the time, switch them out, if one of them gets messed up, just one, you're screwed. I'd love to play Lost Odyssey over again, but I can't, because I can't find disc 3 of a four disc set. And it's not even that long of a game.
Less discs is better. Two, sure.

Well remember LA Noire that game was originally going to be 6 disc long, they cut stuff out to make it 3 disc long. The DLC for that game will be the cut content from what I heard.
Anyways if you own both systems just buy the version that has less disc. Your a bit more limited at how you can do things when it comes to games that disc swap.
As for ME3 I hope its as long as ME2 or longer, i mean we are fighting superior machines here that are the size of ships.

you havent heard of the new DVD's that are being used? Thats why Microsoft had a recent upgrade to their system in order to have this not happen.
Is that the kind of update that comes on the disk of a new game, like Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood?

ME1 had 1 disc, ME2 had 2 so it stands to reason ME3 will have 3 discs.

Even if consoles had digital download for all games, I much prefer to have the physical games in my hands.

I think it will be on one disc. The main mission aren't recruitment missions but are tied to the storyline. I think that means less but longer missions but more importantly less textures, which would save some space. That, improved compression technology, and the desire to print it all on one disc for the player's convenience and the fact that it's cheaper would seem good reasons to believe ME3 will require less disc space than ME2.

Don't care for the amount of disks! If it's a great Game! It will be totally worth it!!

The amount of discs is an indicator of a longer game.
Not necessarily. If you have a game (like Mass Effect) where there is a bunch of data that needs to be on EVERY disc, there isn't necessarily that much content on a disc. Each disc needs to hold all the models, textures, animations, weapon data, ability data, etc. otherwise you couldn't do anything on the game without some kind of load failure taking place. And forcing players to only have certain upgrades or powers just to cut down on the number of files that are stored on disc is much worse than having less content to begin with. Open world games are much more likely to opt for fewer, larger discs (like the new xbox discs) than go for multiple smaller discs (which work in linear progressing games where completed content can't be reloaded).

Just because there is more than one disc, doesn't mean the game will be better/longer/ or more awesome.
Hell I beat ME 2 much faster than I did with ME 1 using similar playing habits. Really the disc switching thing for ME2 was a bit of a jip considering how they did it.
Edit: By jip, I mean the pre-release hype over ME2 made the two discs thing seem significant. When really, it wasn't.

I don't care if the game is one disc or ten, I just want to play it to find out two things:
1) What happens between MShep and Liara
2) How the hell I'll kill 500 reapers

I'd rather it was just on my hard-drive and had no DRM to speak of.
If thats not an option - then 1 blu-ray with no DRM to speak of.

They're being tested right now, but its only an extra Gb of space on one disk.
Meaning that if ME3 is a 2 disk game, they'll have an extra 2 Gb to work with.
Speaking of which, ME3 should at the most be a 3 disk game. Any more than that would be excessive as multiple disks cost extra production money.
Personally, I'd love the game to be huge, but 3 is probably best.
