Is it really that hard for some people to change the disc every ten hours?

Every ten hours? WHAT?

Who plays the game that fast? I don't have to change disks till about 40 hours in. Maybe a little less.

40 hours? Are we talking about ME2 here? What were you doing in that time, staring at the fishtank?

It's already been stated that ME3 will be about the same length as ME2 so there will be no need for 5 or 6 discs.

Hopefully, Microsoft will be smart and move to BluRay or a similar "big" disc for their next console.

I'd be damned pleased if it was three DVDs in that new format. That is a lot of content.

Microsoft should definitely just develop their own proprietary disc format. Nintendo's Wii U discs will hold around 25GB.

If Nintendo can do it, Microsoft with all its $$$ and resources should definitely be able to make their own...

They should make changing discs a nightmare to. Remember the old days of playing games on multiple disks? 10 minutes after playing please insert disc 3 10 minutes later please insert disc 1 please insert disc 4 please insert disc 2 again. It should be like that

Nope, just playing the game and getting the most out of it as I can.

My last playthrough(14th) was my longest. Clocked out at 92 hours.

If MS wanted to use Blu-Ray, they'd have to pay the people who developed it to use it-

One of which is Sony. Their competitor.

I doubt that'll ever happen. If anything, MS should just develop their own big-disk format.

I dont see how anyone  can get 92 hours out of any Bioware game. The longest that it took me to play a bioware game is Dragon Age that took me 36 hours that was taking my time to.

Taking your time in DAO took 36? I can get a good 70 something out of DAO and its known that others have gotten upwards of 120 hours on a single playthrough of DAO.

My playthrough on Normal of ME2, withouth some of the side missions, and withouth Kasumi, Overlord, LOTSB, Arrival and the Firewalker dlcs is around 40 hours. On Veteran is around 50 hours I think. DAO's playthrough on Normal is around 60-65 hours.

Actually, its death was pretty quick. Toshiba gave it up.

I remember when I first bought my Blu Ray player I bought it about a month it launched and was keeping my fingers crossed hoping I didn't spend a lot of money that wouldn't make it. I could have sworn that HD DVD hung around for a year or two. I remember when Netflix dropped support then Warner Brothers dropped support and that was pretty much it

My first playthrough of ME2 took me 36 hours...and that is becuase i was RUSHED i knew i had to go through the relay right or my crew would die,i didn´t do ANY dlc except for the Cerberus ones(all of them) and probably didn´t do 80% of total sidequests.

They had HDDVD which on paper were far better than Blurays, but even the big movie distributors that supported it in the first place then turned to Sony's Bluray in what was called the "HDDVD vs Bluray War".. You might guess that since Bluray was Sony's baby and HDDVD just a more Open evolution of the DVDs, Sony put lots of money to push his baby and they won that race.
I was one of the few who trusted a lot in HDDVDs and even have the HDDVD external drive for Xbox 360 (which works also on PC) with some movies for it (5 of them were given for free just buying it).

Exactly.. Warner Bros turned towards Sony's money like others and that's too bad in the end..

It'd be funny if Microsoft revived HD DVD but used it solely for games.

5-6 discs? Not a chance.

I'd be pleased with 3 discs. I'd be amazed if 4.

I'd love it if the next gen consoles used better than Blu-Ray disc formats.

Not going to happen for the last two people that commented.

But the next Xbox will supposedly have DirectX 11 built in
