I do know how an a/c works. I could build one from scrap if I wanted to. If it is humid, when you cool the air, the water in the air (aka humidity) condenses, forming liquid water. The stated liquid water can be problematic if not delt with properly.

As per the a/c it works by having two seperature pressure zones- a low pressure zone and a high pressure zone. The low pressure zone cools the air by having the coolant evaporate which depending on the coolant absorbs a considerably amount of energy, cooling the processed air. The coolant then is sent to the high pressure zone where it condenses releasing the absorbed energy. The process then repeats. It's not that complicated, but it does take energy because you are essentially trying to make crap flow uphill, transferring energy from a low energy area to a high energy area.

I wish I was more optimistic.
