Granted; you get your silver lining, but in order to do so it manages to eradicate every cloud in existence. This disrupts the natural order of things and precipitation from the sky no longer occurs. The water cycle is forever disrupted and the world's inhabitants find the world now an increasingly hostile place to live. Things start dying and then things go extinct. Given long enough the world's organisms can no longer be supported due to the lack of food, and everything becomes extinct. Welcome to the end of the world in a different sense.
