I would like to know if the N7 CE GERMAN RETAIL will also contain the englisch version of the game (most importantly the english voiceovers!).
If not I will try to import the CE from the UK or US.
Please clarify.

If you don't want to risk it you can order the CE from game.co.uk as they deliver throughout Europe

The german dub isn't so bad though.

Besides, ME2 had all european languages including of course english on disk (at least the Collectors Edition) and ME1 did have english too, so chances for ME3 to NOT have it in some form are pretty slim.
But bumping this question has little use in hope for official answers as the game need to be close to gold-status to give a definite answer.

Üarrgh, ... okay, I have to admit I am a GrammarFascist and tend to handle my choice of words as precisely as possible and thus prefer it the same way when listening to it, but the german version of Mass Effect is just plain horrible!
First off, this unpersonal "sie". Even though the english language does not distinguish between a personal and unpersonal "you", aka leaving it to contextual interpretation for every single person, a romantically interested Shepard talking to his person of interest with "sie" is just as wrong as you can get when translating.
Second, along with the translation, whilst a good part is decent enough even for my liking, there are multiple instances in which I would like to smack the translator. Sometimes, I could think Google-Translate did all the work or people are presented individual lines of dialogue only, completely without context and mood of the situation the line is supposed to get implemented in.
Third, the synchronisation is horrible. Every voice-actor sounds too distant to the situation. It does sound exactly as if they were given just their text and then recorded in the studio. The voices lack most, if not all, emotional connotations. This is even more amplified by the great job the original voice actors did. Original Shepard sounds like Shepard whilst the german one sounds like some random person found the dialogues and just read them out loud.
And this is one of the better examples, I once watched a video of Miranda talking to Shepard right before the "suicide" mission and it was utterly mind-thrashing how gruesome it sounded. And I will absolutely NOT try to find that scene again to show it, it was just that bad I don't even want to watch it again!
Again, I am no fair reference in this regard, but dear Andraste, I HATE the german version!!!

I basically agree. The VA's don't put as much effort into it as their original counterparts.Neofelis Nebulosa wrote...

Now, for ME2, it was said we would be able to download the English version some time after release, but it never happened. I really hope ME3 has it.
After playing the English version of the original ME, ME2's synchronisation sounds creepy. At least if you understand it

And yeah, I switched to english right after Saren's introduction on Eden Prime and never touched the language selector again. I only stumbled upon those german-language videos by bad luck and everytime I watched them (for what reason I don't know, maybe I am masochist) I once again lament over how bad people can physically translate and/or synchronize such otherwise great work.

I have to agree with everything Neofelis said, I hope they do a better job on ME3!
And I also hope the CE will have a English track - I´ve already ordered it =D

No I'm not.
So the TV-Stations in Germany do translate and synchronize almost everything, so what? I can certainly tell for myself that I do not reckon things non-german being inferiour and I assess that assuming the contrary is completely baseless.
Neither are we uptight [profanity of choice]s. There are always idiots on an individual basis, but stereotyping a whole ethnicity because you prefer things not being synchronized is just as stupid as what people think the others would be if point in case.
There are good translations, synchronisations (Hogan's Heroes/Ein Käfig voller Helden is bloody hilarious in both versions, M*A*S*H* was great and quite a few other foreign origin works that got translated and synchronized are) and there are bad ones and you might like or dislike either of them, but this is no reason to route against translations in general.
You people ARE exaggerating. And just in case you misunderstood me: exaggeration =/= wrong.

Good news for everyone: EA Germany said Mass Effect 3 will include both the german and the english voice files on 360.
Of course, they said almost the same thing for Mass Effect 2 but it is still better than nothing, right?

And i know not anyone is for or against localization in germany, me neither as i cannot understand some languages (like mandarin for example;)), it all comes down to personal tastes in this matter. Yet i know of enough that deem unsynchronized movies and shows inferior... and they are the majority
But theres a reason i believe that you get unsynchronized movies barely before 23 in cinemas, and on tv they are basically nonexistent
Oh and at least german sync's are usually done with some effort
To get an specific untranslated book you have to go through some extends sometimes its scary
*edit*
I actually find the sync of hogans heroes superior, and in the big bang theory they have cut/reduced the played in laughters drastic
I also have quite a distaste for all those overtoned music and sfx in most movies and shows in the original, there's a reason the sync's could win, as the voice is the loudest

And I don't even want to dwell on the fact, that every time a german appears to be not so awesome in a foreign show he suddenly becomes danish or something like that(Otto from Malcolm in the middle, several characters from Scrubs).
I just watched the start of the posted youtube video with the thane romance and I didn't get past his first three words... it's unbearable.
So yeah, if I'll buy myself the CE, I'll do it here in germany (because the english one is even more expensive... the first game where I've ever seen that), but only with english vo. So I'm interested if the voices will be included... I also don't see any sense in buying it in german and then download, I don't know 2 gigs of english vo? I imagine I won't get a decent speed right after release.
