The "we fight or we die, that's the plan" is almost as bad as that scene in Halo 3.

Marine: "Ma'am, squad leaders are requesting a rally point. Where should they go?"
Miranda Keyes "To war."
Marine: "No seriously, how about a physical location."

There is nothing wrong with that statement. It's a rally thing. You people are so anticlimatic *eye roll*

LOL, this would have had to follow:

Master Chief: *looks at marine* "Just follow me, and try not to f**k up too bad..."

What's the plan?

Well....they're a race of unspeakable horror that's taken biological tissues to construct horrific amalimates. Their shields are impossible to crack with our own technology. They've spoon fed us technology so that we're completely dependant on their own tech, which allows us to be at a significant technological disadvantage. And they've already invaded multiple worlds, killing millions, and converting people through indoctrination while taking bodies of the dead to restock their shock troopers in the form of husks, Preatorians, and Scions.

...so...erm...we...well. We attack the Reaper fleet. We can take them.

I mean, what exactly could the plan be? It took the entire Council fleet to destroy one Reaper and it's entirely believable that they wouldn't have defeated that one Reaper if it hadn't been stunned by Shepard killing it while it possessed Saren.

Any legitimate analysis of the situation shows that the combined races of the galaxy are boned. Is that really the kind of thing Shepard should tell them? That it's hopeless?(*)

**** no! We fight or we die. That's the end of it. We've got to continue fighting. Saying the truth about their odds will only demoralize a galaxy that must be demoralized enough already.

Fight or Die. That's the choice.

(*)= Assuming, of course, that there isn't some magic bullet or otherwise plot device that turns the Reapers into mush.

Of course there is magic bullet.
The other option is Reapers suffer from Conservation of Ninjitsu wherein we win because they are easy to own in large numbers.

Maybe Shepard has finally been shot in the head enough times to let Conrad join?

I'd much rather have choices throughout the series and the final game to lead to a costly victory. Where say, 80% of the galaxy is wiped out, major planets destroyed, and yet sentient organic life wins the day. The Reapers are defeated.

After all, I plan on having an army of fast breeding rachni, fast breeding krogan, and geth who can multiple as fast as they can build new bodies. And of course as many mechs as those factories can pump out.

I don't want a magic bullet plot device that wins the day. Especially since it's appearance would be at the last minute since there's nothing in ME1 or ME2 that looks like a plot device to undo the Reapers.

Unless Dark Energy is that magic bullet...perhaps?

A thought occurs to me:

Fight or Die that's the plan.
Give me Liberty or give me Death!

I mean, when you need a rallying cry "Fight or die" is not bad.

Okay, I have one more thing to say....

It has been said,"Do not say little in many words, but a great deal in few..."

"We fight or we die! That's the plan..." I think Commander Shepard, is following this advice to the letter. ^_^

"We regroup on the Citadel to unite the galaxy's forces and launch a massive counter-attack  or we die, that's the plan"

Which one sounds better.

I don't know about you guys but I thought the whole "We fight or we die! That's the plan!" quote was pretty badass. Sounds like a soldiers quote if you ask me lol.

Plan B is to send wave after wave of his own men to overload every reaper's preset reap limit.

The line from the trailer sounds better, to be honest. Your line's a mouthful. It's also a run-on sentence.

We need some kind forum parsing algorithm that automatically italicizes sarcastic statements.

This line will be unavoidable just like the "Machines can be broken" and "Human dominance? Or just Cerberus" gems, calling it now.

Was shepard hit in the head or something?

On Earth, he fell a pretty good distance after that ship blew up.  At the Geth base he also fell.  They add up after a while.Image IPB

That said, in Shepard's defense... I think he was saying the broad part of the plan... but he has something more specific in mind... we just haven't heard it yet.Image IPB

That line made me cringe. I'm not usually the person who tells Bioware what to do with their game, but please, change that line.

"Shepard?  But your dead!"

"I got Better"

hmmm not sure which line is more cheesy!  Either way ME3 is living up to ME2 standard of a couple of badly thought out lines.  :P

The line isn't that awesome but it's not horrible either. I've heard a lot worse lines before

I actually thought the "I got Better" line was pure gold (in a positive way).  Nothing wrong with that line, did everything it was supposed to (and better than any alternative that I can think of).

^ Actually I do agree with that,  its a bit cheesy still, but it works as intended.  It does put a big smile on your face!

I still think "Finishing this fight, that's the plan!" would've been better.

fight (presumably with a plan)
or die (emplied by not doing anything)
