Well I was being sarcastic when I said a year but thanks for the fix Image IPB. But seriously take time in making a quality game that is actually finished and people will be happy.

As long as Bioware is calling that release date, I do not care if it is a year or three; just want the chef to send me the product when they believe it is done, and not the clerk at the register.

Okay, so comparing Bioware to Coca-Cola is pretty valid. They had a great base-- RPG enthusiasts-- and then went in a new direction.
When its base didn't like Coke, Coca-Cola went back to making old coke. It also branched out into other avenues.

Did Coca-Cola attack the people who didn't like New Coke, though?

I should say that where I live, Coke made a mistake at their manufacturing plant and produced toxic coke. Some people became seriously sick.
For the next five years, Coke sold their product at 33% [Edit: Actually, it was more accurately around 25%] of its sales price.

Do you see Bioware doing that? No? Oh, okay.

So Bioware really doesn't care at all about its customers.

No; don't see the correlation between this straw man either; just thought I would remind folks that after the dust-up, business was much better for a product they were already making the entire time.

Bioware already offers discounts and freebies, and some dislike this, too. Hater's hate.....

They really are trying very hard, esp. on the forums. To look for "apologies" in interviews/press releases is beyond naive.

What the devs are doing here (David, Mike, Luke, Rob etc.) matters more to me than any press release. Bioware doesn't care at all about its customers......what hogwash. Why ARE the devs still putting up with coming to the cesspool this forum has become?<_<

Right, all that "free" DLC that DA2 has. That would be like paying for Coke straws. Can you imagine having to pay for Coke straws?

If you're happy being treated the way you are by Bioware, great. Good luck in your other relationships (business or otherwise), too.

There's tons and tons of people who preordered DA2 blind, based on the reputation of the developer alone and ended up feeling robbed because of it's very poor quality. These fans, myself included, are lost to Bioware now. I'll never, ever, preorder a Bioware game, no matter how many quality games they produce in the future. They will always have to keep proving that their latest release is not yet another rushed cash grab.

And the moment they dare actually release another rushed cash grab, they'll become the laughing stock of the gaming community and could very well be the end of them. I'm wondering, was it worth it?

Considering that DA2 was my first ever pre-order; Yep! if only to not be included in the opinionated group that believe they speak for the rest of us. Guess I enjoy the laughter....

I didn't even buy the damn thing. A friend gave it away to me. Don't care much about the game, but I can't believe how people are defending the company.

Already pre-ordered ME3 a while back. Don't regret it at all.

I think the worst bit was:

In a Dragon Age II interview with Eurogamer, lead designer Mike Laidlaw said the developer had "ideas" for a sequel and protagonist Hawke.

Hawke is a loser and deserves to die. Preferably through over exposure to awesome (i.e. the warden).

/hate rambling about Hawke off

I think the largest problem I had with Dragon Age 2 (among the other huge problems, like infuriating companions, and what makes it worse is I hate Hawke so I can't solo either) was that, well, the quests might as well have just been compiled in a book called "101 ways to initiate combat". I mean, I think the worst example was Aveline's personal quest where where you basically have to go up the wounded coast and just steamroll a load of mobs to complete it. Now compare that to Cammen's quest which involved only dialogue.

Anyway, I'd be rambling on for ages about points that have already been covered 296274602467346 times if I was to explain what was wrong with DA2 so i'll spare you all a huge essay, lol.

I largely agree with this. More quests that doesn't involve any fighting at all would be preferable.

I didn't either (buy it that is), saw the writing on the wall after ME2.  That said, everyone has their own opinions and likes/dislikes.

There are enough people out there to make the CoD series go on forever, and sell extremely well even if I can't play one for more than 5 minutes before being bored to tears. No surprise that you can find folks who like/defend DA2.  Unfortunately for BW DA2 doesn't seem to have the great sales CoD type games have, so we'll see how well this works out for them.

This again? I don't like CoD at all, so no, it has nothing to do with CoD in my case.

People are entitled to enjoy their games. I have no qualms with CoDders and God-of-Warrers. Hey, I like God of War for what it is. Whatever it is that DA2 was trying to be, and whatever Bioware's intention with it, it still doesn't excuse their attitude in every single press release.

I'll shut up about it now. The ranty angst that EA/Bioware's PR and marketing fills me with is mostly expended. Mostly.

Okay, one last one: Get a clue, EA/Bioware!

Again not surprising, they are employees of a publically traded company.  I haven't seen anything terribly out of the ordinary post release, they aren't going to come out and say "yeah we fell way short of our target" even if they do say that internally (which may or may not be the case).  As I said earlier I was rather surprised to see even the "we lost some fans" comment, that to me speaks volumes about the reception the game has received and the fact that they have taken notice of it.

You never see EA admit any sort of short coming, they must feel something pretty major has gone down for a comment like that to come out.

Now whether or not that will spur on changes?  Who knows...

It's not so much that they didn't apologise. If they did apologise, it might very well just vindicate non-fans' opinion of them, and insult the current fans in the process.

But that they insulted both people who liked DA2 and people who didn't like DA2 ... Man, these people are Kings of Relations Ineptness.

I think this is as close as we are ever going to get to EA stating they screwed up, by marginalising the fact their product was bashed by a large portion of the consumers. I haven't checked my nostrodamus, but isn't that one of the harbingers of the apocalypse?

On an unrelated topic they have "ideas" regarding Hawke and a sequal.
How scared should we be?

Let's ask the good doctor.
