If you really saw this, then they are probably your own projections screened out onto society. But psychology 101 will tell you that you are probably in self-denial about such emanations.

Lets hope her time serving with alien crewmembers has broadened her view of the cosmos.

It's called tribalism. Every human being exhibits it, even those who proclaim themselves to be holy defenders of the oppressed. Everybody doesn't like some group to varying degrees for various prejudicial reasons, whether they be of a different race, nationality, political affiliation, football fan or class.
I agree. It's all tribalism, the worst of our evolutionary traits in modern times.

This is skirting quite close to Godwin's Law, you know.
And yes, the guys at Storm Front are racists.

How is she a racist?
By "racist" (or xenophobic, as the case may be) , I mean someone who considers themselves (and/or a particular group of people) to be inherently superior, physically and/or intellectually, to another or several other groups of individuals. I think we can agree on this definition.
Now, I don't know about you guys, but I have never seen any evidence of her being like that.
Does she think aliens are inferior to humans? Does she not express her disgust towards pro-human extremist groups such as Terra Firma and Cerberus?
When asked to express her POV, she makes an excellent analogy ("if you were attacked by a bear, you would tell your dog to fight it, even if you love your dog, because he is not human.") explaining that however much aliens may want to work with humanity, they will always put their interests above ours. It's true, and also natural to a degree.
She should be considered distrustful towards aliens at worst, and pragmatic at best.
As for her "I can't tell the aliens from the animals" remark... have you ever said something rashly, maybe because you were feeling uneasy or intimidated, something that you found stupid afterwards? I'm sure you have. I think that's the case with the aforementioned remark.
Really, she's not nearly as close-minded as the people who call her out on being close-minded.

She doesn't trust an alien government to take care of humanity. That doesn't make her racist, it makes her pretty damned intelligent.
She was also smart with her suspicion of letting a thug mercenary Krogan and a hot headed Turian cop roam around unchecked in a state of the art Alliance ship.

Actually, she kept an eye on them by staying in the hangar when there were clearly nicer places on the Normandy to be.Seboist wrote...

I don't think I've even heard enough from her to claim she's racist. I know she likes Tennyson but can't hold that against her... she might not have read Byron.
