Obviously Vent-kid doesn't make it, and dies horribly after thinking he has escaped.
Kids dying, along with sex, is a huge taboo in video games and this scene will surely cause some controversy from some PTA soccer-mom mid-west group, but for now, can anyone think of any other games that took the plunge and killed some kids on screen?
The only other games I can think of are Diablo and Prey.
Prey was definitely the worst though, when the spirit possesses the little girl and she throws the little boy onto that spike. God damn that was awful.

There was explicit child killing in Fallout 1 or 2 (not sure which).

Dead Space 2? You could stomp babies and kids.

I would suppose Bioshock counts.

Who the hell wants to see children to die?

No offense, but the title pretty much spoils a pretty shocking part of ME3 - you may want to change it to something more...subtle for those who have the pleasure of not knowing what happens to the child. =p

Explicit violence against children in certain media, like games, is illegal in some countries, so you're not likely to find many. Bad for sales.

In the Ultima series you could attack and kill just about anyone, including children. Graphics were not exactly to today's standards, but you could kill kids. There were even some instances where gangs of children would attack your PC, and you could either kill them or run for it.

OK who wants to kill children?

That's just sick even to think about.

You could kill kids in Baldur's Gate, I think. Doing so would turn every guard and villager/townsperson hostile.

Some people include it, some don't, in reality however, children are not invincible from being killed...  So deal with it, no one asked for your opinions, only if you knew other games that include this.

I don't want to kill children in-game (but I don't care if someone wants to), but see some children die like in ME3 isn't something bad, at least in my opinion. Children die during war. It could add realism.

I agree. I didn't know that the kid dies until I saw the thread title, then it was obvious what it was refering to.

I don't want to, but I'm pretty sure you can kill EVERYONE in Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

No, some characters just fall unconscious for a while. But you can kill *almost* everyone.

Nope, kids have plot armor in modern FO games.

FO3 yes, but I'm pretty sure (with kids being the exception) that EVERY npc can be killed in NV.

With a mod you can. In New Vegas the kids are the only ones who can't die, everyone else is free game.

Yeh, I think you're probably right. FNV was vastly superior to FO3.

Prey had a scene where two children are being killed right in front of you. One of them gets impaled on a spike.
Video:

It's a great game though.

I think Tales of the Abyss had a scene where a little kid got eaten by some sort of miasma, haha.

Although not the actual game, a kid dies in the trailer for dead island.
If there's anyone on earth who hasn't seen it yet I'd recommend watching it... very emotional.

Jade Empire had a quest involving orphans being killed by a corrupt official who flooded their orphanage.

But there's a difference between 'killing' the character on-screen and showing it discreetly or indirectly (through the shuttle exploding, for example).

If anyone seriously got up in arms about that scene from ME3 I'd be even more cynical about media reporting than I already am. It's an emotional scene, to be sure, but not for shock value. It reminds us why we're doing this.
