Obviously Vent-kid doesn't make it, and dies horribly after thinking he has escaped.
Kids dying, along with sex, is a huge taboo in video games and this scene will surely cause some controversy from some PTA soccer-mom mid-west group, but for now, can anyone think of any other games that took the plunge and killed some kids on screen?
The only other games I can think of are Diablo and Prey.
Prey was definitely the worst though, when the spirit possesses the little girl and she throws the little boy onto that spike. God damn that was awful.

I like how people put the spoiler in the title and then put *spoiler* afterward.  As if there is some other kid in ME3 they could be referencing.

The Dead Island trailer starts out inside a little dead girls eye, so I'm pretty sure there will be some there.

Best trailer ever too.

Deus Ex:

A game called Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy Way (never made out of Japan) has the big bad group kidnapping and burning children, sometimes to corrupt and mold their souls into unfeeling servants of darkness, and sometimes for laughs, apparently. Albeit offscreen.

Didn't they patch FO2 so you couldn't kill the kids? Made them invisible IIRC, wich was a PITA when kid pickpockets came at you.

nah but seriously it depends if its like ME3 it just makes the fight much more personal and makes me wanna kill the reapers even more.

OK who wants to kill children?

That's just sick even to think about.

This.

I don't care if it's not realistic....I don't need to see kids getting murdered by husks to know it's happening.

No offense, but the title pretty much spoils a pretty shocking part of ME3 - you may want to change it to something more...subtle for those who have the pleasure of not knowing what happens to the child. =p

I agree. I didn't know that the kid dies until I saw the thread title, then it was obvious what it was refering to.

I don't think we know that for sure.  Shepard sees him in a vent, then the kid runs off when Shepard isn't looking.  As far as I know, we don't really see what happens to him.

Controversy is good for a game it helps makes the game more noticed

If you are really interested in what happens to him, re-read the OP or read IGN's experience regarding the ME3 demo.

However, it doesn't change the fact that the title DOES, essentially, spoil this aspect of the game.

Rule of Rose the kids die and get eaten.

Siren has a 6 year old who keeps getting put in near death situations she watches her teacher die who was protecting her the whole game but she's also the only one who makes it out of the game with some of their mental faculties intact.

Though I actually like most games approach to this topic that killing kids if off limits. Though in fable it can get funny cuz you kill the kids parents and can swipe your sword through them or hurl powers at them and all they do is scream and run around.

People who don't find anything wrong with it:huh: Always found it wierd how every single war book, movie, tv series, and game have one dead woman for every 500 dead man and never ever includes a dead child.

Xenogears, Wild arms 3&4, Suikoden 3 (Heck it's even one of the main characters who cuts the child down when he tries to sneak attack her.)

A few games I can't remember being of the older variety.

Just as an FYI, it is possible to kill two children in FO3- provided you have no problem nuking Megaton. The sheriff's kid and his friend both die in the explosion.

I don't go looking for games to kill kids (and I've never tried to kill one in game), but war is war and sometimes the innocent die.

Thats because the kid doesn't die. At least it wasn't confirmed. Topic creator is speculating he dies and there are also other theories like he's a hallucination or ghost. Nothing in these forums is spoilers

Umm. Read any article where the journalists were allowed to watch the whole demo. The kid is not a hallucination.

Although not the actual game, a kid dies in the trailer for dead island.
If there's anyone on earth who hasn't seen it yet I'd recommend watching it... very emotional.

This is the first thing I thought of when I read the title. So heartbreaking.

Meh. Children are often disproportionately victims of war. Perhaps if our culture didn't so selectively filter the reality of wars we'd be less cavalier and gung-ho about "war stories" and "war heroes."
