^thread title

There are people who obviously want their warden back, there's some who want Hawke back (and Bioware seems tempted to use Hawke again) but I think it would be interesting to get everyone's view about it in a thread specific for the topic rather than bringing it up in other threads who they'd like.

Opinions? I personally never want to see Hawke again, but that's just me.

Not Hawke, not the Warden. Someone new. Preferably with multiple origins available.

Anyone but Hawke, I just really didn't connect with the character.

I'd be happy with the Warden back, but I'd be equally happy with someone new. A return of Hawke however, would be extremely disappointing for me.

New Guy.
Morrigan. I wouldn't mind playing Morrigan. Ha!

I would love to import one of my several wardens ^_^

My second best option: a completely new character, with racial, job and origin selection

I sincerely hope Hawke is gone forever as main role. It's not I dislike her, but I think it's pretty poor as a main character. I wouldnt mind to have her as a companion, althought I rather not see her again.

We've done this thread many many times before. But, I'd like to have my Hawke back again. Which is not to be confused with the rest of your Hawkes. I'll take your word for it that your creations are boring and never to be seen again.

But that's not to say it specifically has to be 'DA3.' I'd just like to see his story carried on from the cliffhanger and properly finished. If that was done in an awakening level expansion, or multiple meaty DLCs I'd be fine with it.

After that, a new protaganist works for me. Ideally following a multiple year development schedule. No interest in seeing my Warden again.

A entirely new character that can be molded accordingly and isn't necessarily shoehorned into one role.

If they can bring back the LIs, then Hawke would be good. Otherwise don't bother.

Warden only if they don't have VO.

I should have included this part. I wouldn't be interested if it were truly Awakening style in this regard. If thats the case jump right onto the new guy.

I like the idea to be a son/daughter of a quinari convert living in Seheron/Par Volen in a quinari society. Especially now when most of the nations in Thedas are now in a destructive conflict between mages vs templars. Now is the best time for the quinari to conquer all of Thedas.  I leave the rest of the idea to the writers... :D .

I would like to have origin stories again(elf, qunari, human, dwarf, mage)and play as that protaganist, but then there could be linear sequences involving hawke or the warden. PS bring back dialogue wheel, but with more conversation options.

My hope is that there is a new protagonist in DA3, with cameos of my Warden and Hawke (via import).

First off, Origin stories. Fully voiced. I'm sure Bioware could find a VA that can make his voice sound different. Many Origins characters were voiced by one person who changed their voice around.

Second, a Seeker for the Chantry. But you have the option of betraying them, so you're not pigeonholed into being a Chantry stooge.

Third, here's what I have for the Origin stories. Sadly the only two I can think of a decent background for are Dwarf and Tal-Vashoth.

Human - A Nevarran.

Elf - Antivan

Dwarf - Once from the Warrior Caste, you were exiled from Orzammar after you were framed for a crime you did not commit. Your connections with people from the mining Caste still exist even as you're a surfacer, and this proves invaluable to the Chantry in its weakened state as the lyrium you help provide is used on what few Templars remained under their control.

Tal-Vashoth - Hired by the Chantry as a mercenary, you don't care what happens so long as your paid. If you're a female, you left the Qun because you wanted to be a warrior.

I don't care as long as that character is fully customizable, which in my case means being able to play a female, preferably elven, assassin or mage who doesn't do circus backflips a la DA2 (I hated the melee rogue in DA2 even though I loved it in DAO). I'd really like to have the origins backstories back as well (not the same ones obviously). If I get to play flemeth then any backflips are forgiven though. Oh, and please no re-using the male animations in a romantic scene with a female protagonist. It shows.

If they're going the Voiced Protagonist route, don't half-ass it with faux-customization. Stick to your guns and make the character fully.

Gender and appearance are faux customization now?
