A fallen and rebellious antihero... the Fallen Chevalier of Orlais.
Enough said.

voiceless character (or better voice with MORE options)
of ANY race (barring Qunari, unless it's a Qun deserter's child or something)
of various origins

My character. Not Laidlaw's or Gaider's or whoever the heck came up with Hawke.

I'm getting tired of being a Ferelden, I would like a different change of culture for the next protagonist; preferrably Tevinter, Orlesian, or Antivan.

New character. I see no reason the bring the Warden or Hawke back, especially since almost everyone dislikes Hawke and a lot of people killed their Wardens.
We've had a different protagonist for every game so far, so I'd like to see a new one in DA III, too.

As I said in a a similar thread. I'm guessing a if we have a new character it'll be a seeker.

A new character without the baggage. All Hawke's family did was try to make you feel sympathy for them. And even that was pointless, as the story progressed through Act 2.

I would actually like a new character, but I have this feeling--based on the fact that Cassandra discusses the need for either the Hero of Ferelden or the Champion of Kirkwall--that we may have a choice of playing one or the other. But I'm guessing it's essentially the same plot either way.

Can Mages even be seekers? It wouldn't make much sense if they could.Slidell505 wrote...

Why not? Contrary to popular belief, not all mages hate Chantry, and mages are sometimes allowedout of their cages. Keeping mages under thumb is not the only activity of importance to the Chantry. In fact, I would guess that the skills of a mage seeker would be needed for some tasks, so I'm sure they have them.

New character. Yes, yes the Warden and Hawkes' stories aren't done yet, and all that, but I like the idea of each game being told from a different POV.

I've seen several of these threads and I can't remember if I posted in this one yet, but I want a new protagonist.

A new protagonist all the way. The Warden's story is long done and Hawke really didn't strike me like Shepard did.
I'd like to see:
-race selection (human, elf, or dwarf)
-background traits similar to Origins (elf blooded human, surface dwarf, dalish first, etc...)
Actually I'd like to see the option to create a four member party, and for those who just have to have premade characters and banter there will be henchmen/companions you can recruit along the way (that way everyone wins!)

A Qunari would be an interesting experiance or a Tal-Vashoth more likely.

I would like a new character with a selection of origins and without a voiceover.
The Warden would be too hard to bring back at this point with some wardens dying and some living at the end of DA:O and Hawke just doesn't appeal to me in any way, feeling like Bioware's character and DA 2 feeling more of an unfinished lovenote to themselves than a game made for fans.

My preference is for the Origins formula. Fun and replayable with lots of satisfying customization options.
Bringing back the Warden just isn't feasible. Very few new players would want to start a character at level 25+. In a DLC expansion like Awakening that's doable, not in a new game aimed at current AND new players.

Preferably a new character (if they want to do more with Hawke I'd rather see an expansion then a whole new game.)
If they're going to stick us with one race then I want the next game to force a race other then Human, we've had Hawke for the human protagonist, let's have an Elf or a Dwarf or a Qunari/Tal'Vashoth
Let us play a fantasy race in your fantasy setting!

A new character, as it should be.
Preferably someone who eventually gets recruited into the Seekers, or someone who turns out to be a Somniari/Dreamer. Maybe both.

Hawke or a new protagonist. I wasn't nearly as attached to the Warden as I was to Hawke, but I also don't want his story to continue if the companions and LIs of this game get left in the wayside a la DAA.
