If I have to listen to 20+ hours of haughty French accented voice acting over the course of playing through DA3, I will likely have to hara-kiri on myself to save my sanity.

I really hope it doesn't boil down to everyone speaking with a French accent though if you think about it Leliana not too bad ^^;; That or you get references to Monty Python Holy Grail with something 'You stupid Ferelden Pig Dogs go boil your bottoms under silly person' and so forth

My opinion: finish Hawke's tale with a decent expansion then have a new character for DA3.

Preferably with different origins and endings. (yeah, I went there.)

I totally agree! :D

Who the hell calls themselves Hawke?

In keeping with fiction, ever heard of Airwolf?

Not Hawke, but seriously, i think a choice between Hawke, the warden, or someone new would wok well

Hawke is fine with me. The "Femhawke" is absolutely fantastic imo.

its sad to think about how many of us don't want hawke but since laidlaw does our voices won't really matter in the end.

I'm thinking it's probably going to be my characters kid (or Morrigans kid, whatever) by the way it's going thus far i think that's fitting.

though i would like my Origins character back...

1. Totally new character, maybe an Orlesian or something.
2. Warden
.....
9000. Master Chief
9001. Hawke

To be fair, I reckon having the MC in a fantasy game would be more interesting then another run of Hawke, the Errand Boy.

The end of DA2 totally makes me want to play as Hawke.

Not Hawke, I won't even write fanfiction about Hawke. Everything DA2 fanfic related will act as if Hawke never existed. She was fun as a ****s and giggles what happens if a mage runs around in mage hostile territory. But she was just that, good for ****s and giggles, and nothing more.

I want my Warden back for the following reasons.

1. She was there when I first met, Morrigan and Flemeth.

2. She killed, Flemeth on Morrigan's behalf.

3. Morrigan, saved my Warden's life by sleeping with, Alistar.

4. And at the end of "Witch Hunt" it was clear through body language and facial expressions that, Morrigan had learned more about, Flemeth's plan and was scared and concerned for my Warden's life.

On top of that I want to know more about this child that has the soul of an old god in him/her but I don't want to learn this through a character that has no knowledge of the prior events that led up to the end of "Witch Hunt."

Bottom line is that I put in a lot of time and effort into creating my Warden right from the beginning and I'm not ready to put her to rest yet. To me she still has much to do.

One of the best DA2 fanfics I've read so far is this.

Hawke is fine with me. If the writers feel Hawke's story isn't complete then I'm okay with it. It's more important to me that the story is good!

A Ferelden in Orlais of course.
But not Hawke or Warden - they should be cameos. And I don't care if it doesn't look exactly like my Hawke or Warden due to different art styles, they'll still be recognisable.
But anyway, a Ferelden: different origins, voiced BUT I'd still like to select EXACTLY what they say, even if it makes VA's redundant.
Mage, warrior & rogue as always too.

Hawke, but if it's not Hawke I won't be heartbroken about it. As long as you're still a Ferelden, I'm good. I think it would be cool if in some DA game you got to play as Morrigan's god child baby. That would be cool protagonist!!

I really don't like Bioware's practice of making sequels stand-alone games with new PC's, but I don't want Hawke to come back. He was a flat character who was boring as all heck and didn't really accomplish anything in DA2. I also don't think the Warden would work now, either.

Voice acting in itself doesn't make a more compelling game. In fact, it narrows the range of possibilities.

Get rid of the fully voiced main character, and instead spend the money saved from not having to hire voice talent and do more QA/testing, add more locales and items, and polish the writing, dialogue, and main plotline.
Maybe give some new writers a chance so we don't get the same basic characters that have been with us since the legact Bioware games.

I hear Microsoft Sam works for cheap.

Someone new.
Hawke was pretty forgettable, and all traces of DA2 should be swept under the rug, and pretend that it never happened.

No to the Warden from Origins as well. The Warden could die, and in 2 of my 4 playthroughs, my Warden died. So how would this work for him/her to return? It already was silly to see them return in Awakening.

Roll a new character if the GW went US. Sadly, with VO that won´t happen.

I´m not certain Hawke can´t be salvaged. Taking a bit more care with dialogue instead of too nice, jerkass and agresive, and above all writing him/her as the main character instead of supporting could really help. That said, I don´t want him for DA3 either.

I'd prefer the warden, and unvoiced, but I doubt that will happen. They seem married to that blasted dialogue wheel. If not the warden, then someone new--especially if we can get the Origins companions back in a meaningful, preferably playable, way. Perhaps with the addition of Varric, minus the over-the-top bow and bow effects. To me, Hawke was a guy who effed up entirely and was a poor judge of character. I'm not interested in revisiting him. That doesn't mean that I don't think they should do a DA2 expansion to give the people who enjoyed DA2 some kind of resolution for their character.
