we're in the 22nd century, people developed all types of genetical engineering, not to mention armor technology. the soldier shouldn't die from bullets as easy as the other classes do... he breathes bullets and knows how to dodge them by nature, they might even give him a heavier armor with a special back-up shield generator or eezo core that would repel all attacks for a short duration (this would explain immunity to the more detail-oriented fans)CodyMelch wrote...

I agree.. immunity sounds good... he's a soldier afterall and he's not supposed to die from bullets
another option I like that would make a lot of sense is for the Soldier to get some type of damage bonus with all non-heavy weapons - this would balance the lack of tech and biotic abilities
........................................he is a soldier. He is supposed to die from bullets like anyone else.
I'm all for immunityB)
Weapons are also improved and just as advanced ffs. Being just as lethal as any other era. Have you even played ME2? Read the codex or the books? Doesn't seem like it.
Soldier class, in either game. Can't "dodge bullets". They move faster than the enemy can aim with AR but that's it. They can easily be hit.
Heavier armor? No. The armor shepard wears in the 2nd game is heavy armor. It has more armor to it then the medium armor in ME1 just is shaped to be the same size as the medium armor with more protection. As it is the soldier class has more shields and health then other classes, adding anything else would be moot.
Fortification was basically the immunity of ME2. If Bioware knows better that will be it. There is a difference between being able to take a hit, and being game breaking immortal that defies lore.

I would be fine with that. It makes since for the Soldier to be sort of the tank.
There is a difference between being a tank and being on god mode. Which is exactly what immunity was in ME1. No matter what difficulty they played.

The soldier doesn't need immunity. Soldiers need abilities that aren't ammo powers. Every class in ME2 had access to at least one ammo power. A bonus power could be stacked on top of that. So aside from adrenaline rush, the only ability available to soldiers that was not available to every other class was the infinitely useless concussive shot. An ability nobody wants to dump points into but are basically forced to. Even if concussive shot is useful in ME3, I'd still like to see something new brought to the table.
Every class has one ability that is unique to it except the Soldier, which has two. No other Shepards get Concussive Shot.
Your statement about ammo powers is a little inaccurate as well, as bonus powers are the only ways for Adepts, Sentinels, and Engineers to get ammo powers without relying on a squadmate.

... overrated? Wow. Adrenaline Rush is basically broken if you know how to use it. Even without the Mattock, which is awesome for others but broken for Soldiers.
I'd like another interesting power for soldiers, though. Wonder what this 'Fortitude' is that I keep hearing about. I hope it's not just ME2's Fortification bonus power made standard, or something.
