I romanced her in me1 and she was the better of the two options, the only thing I didn't like was the whole I believe in god thing. I mean, religion is very persistant aint it? Even when we explore different planets and run into new species we still find way to justify the existence of some super diety? I don't get it. Her being religious is so inconsistant with everything happening its like a mega-plot-hole-of-death. So my suggestions is to make her more consistent with the mass effect reality(and reality in general).

I think she's the only character to still believe in God. You'd think space exploration and the whole reaper threat would be enough to DISQUALIFY the existence of any super entity. Sad really. Make the character more believeable please.

OP, this is not really about Ashley and I don't know if you would be interested BUT.

Imagine that GOD is just a big consciousness and read this:

http://www.lifeposit...ngless-life.asp

No matter how many species are there...

I don't think it opposes her character, but I agree it's silly in such a time. Especially when these species themselves are in ways superior then you and have different beliefs.

EDIT: OP you should make it specific that you are talking about Christianity and not in a spiritual sense...

so you think in order to believe in god nothing bad ever happens to a planet and that you shouldnt space explore. I think that is pretty retarded. There is many reasons for a person to believe in god, you shouldn't give up just because you saw space or that reapers attack.

i'm just glad organized religion wasn't all over the game.. that would have been annoying. Nothing wrong with personal beliefs

Imagine that god doesn't exist at all and its all just some hippy lingo garbage? Don't worry, I'm already there!!!

I'm not about to **** on your beliefs but this "big consciousness" stuff is just as looney as everything else.

Agreed. silly beyond belief. as if a god would make any sense in their universe.

Also, I am talking about a general "spiritual sense" Also nonsense.

I think in order for a God to exist there has to be proof. Not a plethora of evidence against his existence. The only reason to believe in God is weakness. It's hard to be a little human being alone in this universe we want to have some medieval guardian figure but that's just too bad. no one is there. especially in the mass effect universe. And you definitely should give up if reapers start to harvest your bodies. Why isnt god doing something? Unless, gasp, he doesn't exist?

Gee, the original poster has a short memory and is a total phoney. After going into a seperate thread and just RAILING against the thought of having romances in games he declares that he romanced Ashley because whe was the better of the two options. Her belief in god is clearly explained.

One could also argue that religion has become redundant in today's world, yet theists still exist. Likewise, even if the existance of aliens were to 'disprove' the existence of any Terran gods, you can't expect them to disappear entirely in a mere 30 years. After all, members of the other races also continue to cling onto their religions and philosophies... and in rare cases, each other's as well.

It's not explained at all. she goes. I "BELIEVE IN GOD BECAUSE SOMETHING HAS TO BE OUT THERE." I got news for you honey, something is out there. It's a REAPER INVASION!

OP.

See the thing is, your point of view is as useless as any other, because in the long run NOTHING has meaning. You can make little meanings for yourself everyday and be caught up in life, but in GENERAL, it's all just a bunch of crap. Atheists and Christians both have no knowledge, and therefore can't make anything useful of it.

Dude there is no knowledge. It's selfmade. You speak with words that people have madeup themselves and you can NEVER answer questions. All you can do is watch and see what happens. You can know the laws of physics but never know WHY they are present and WHY do they works a specific way.

Edit: I really encourage you to read the article with an open mind.

Seriously. share me some of that ganja dude. that some wicked ass drug you smoking. WE DO HAVE KNOWLEDGE. "selfmade" wtf? As in we sought it out ourselves? yes.  I use a language created by other people. Yes. I can answer questions. Yes. I can do more than watch and see what happens.  I do know why the laws of physics are present and why they work the way they do. It's called the science. read up on it.

Stop asserting these things that are obviously false. what you need to do is go to school and pay attention. less of this big councious stuff.

Edit: the article was too long, find me a shorter one. And the first line screamed of hippy speak junk.

Welp, Christianity technically got outdated a pretty long time ago, but that doesn't prevent otherwise reasonable and sensible people from blindly believing in some abstract god. It's just a basic human nature and i don't see why would it change in Mass Effect future

Another myth: Human nature to believe in God. No it's not.

I agree with everything else but that is false.

This is a bit of a one sided talk, I really hear you but you don't hear me. You are scratching the surface and not thinking deep. I just can't get you to go deep through an internet chat. lol.

I had an A in physics thank you. But all it does is observe and make conclusions, NEVER answer.

Anything you do is meaningless and that's just how it is. There is just nothing you can say to defend your position, it's empty, as is everything.

Speaking as an atheist, OP you are a moron.

Theists have existed since mankind developed the ability to think, and won't die out the moment we start exploring space.

A characters personal philosophy is not a plot hole. Do you even know what a plot hole is?

I hope you enjoy your trolling. Now, where is a mod?

You're not an atheist, you're a christian in disguise. You do not fool me the slightest.

Lock this topic if you must, the truth will remain firm.

Not a troll actually but I agree, this topic has blown up in the wrong direction. Lets focus on the plot hole people not the obvious non-existance of the christian God.
