It would be even better though to get a big experience bonus starting out if you've played both games and even better bonuses if you've leveled up that character completely.

if you import your me2 character to me3 there will be huge rewards beyond the inherent reward of continuing your story

Getting to level 30 in ME2 was extremely easy. In ME1 I had to work my butt off to get to level 50, and then even more so to get to 60.

I never get above 57 in a single run... if I kill all the enemies outside the mako and do every quest. With all bonuses in place of course. In ME2 it's just too easy to get to lvl 30 and it happens way to soon.
