What do you think is it possible that we get a batarian for the team?

I think its a great opportunity for the ME 3 story.

In theory there is a possibility...maybe an Batarian separatist, who opposes the hostile mainstream Batarian race policy towards Council races, humans in particular.

But the only way for us to really find out is to wait till game release.

Sure, Grunt and Zaeed would appreciate a little target practice.

I thought that the most of the batarians are wiped out by the reapers. Only a few survive.
Didn´t Jesse Houston mention it in the EA Live Stream?

One of survivors could join Shepard and get revenge for his people.

I would think there will be some Batarians present at Shepards trial, either in person (perhaps unlikely due to hostilities between humans and batarians) or via hologram. Wouldn't they be the ones leading the prosecution? Though then again there is the fact many of the husks present on Earth are Batarian. Still why would there be a trial if all the Batarians are already wiped out? If they're all gone there'd be no voice asking for explanation to why an entire Batarian system got wiped off the map. So I gotta think that some if not most of the Batarian population is still intact at the time the Reapers invade Earth.

So with that in mind, I could see a situation where the Batarian Hegemony sends one of their top agents to monitor Shepard after the trial/escape from Earth. Or perhaps just as likely, maybe the Hegemony sends one of their top agents to assassinate Shepard but during the fight Shepard manages to subdue him/her (likely him) and prove the truth that Shepard had no choice but to destroy the system and that the Reapers are responsible for the missing Batarian systems (i.e. where the Batarian husks on Earth came from). The Batarian agent then pledges allegiance to Shepards cause and joins his/her crew against the battle against the Reapers.

There's great potential here. The relationship between Shepard and the Batarian agent could evolve from begrudging alliance to mutual respect to perhaps even friendship.

A batarian squadmate would have a lot of potential, that's for sure.

And don´t forget that 7 of 9 Shepards combination's have a background with the batarians.
Only Earth born / Sole Survivor and Spacer / Sole Survivor hasn´t this.

But is Arrival canon for all Shepards?

Yes the Devs have said that in ME3 Shepard is on trial for the events of Arrival, regardless if the player downloaded the DLC or not.

Not particularry interested in having a batarian in the team, but initially I wasn't neither interested in a salarian squadmate. Then BW pulled out of the cilinder Mordin, leaving me speechless. So.. let's see if BioWar will do it again.

I must say for example that a batarian squadmate with a Zaeed-like characterization and background would be really intriguing.

A batarian would be nice, if it was Balak it would be even better

I approve Batarian squadmate for ME3. As previously stated, there's a lot of potential for writing it into the story. They can go several routes: vindication, retribution for the reapers, separatism, etc.

Yes.

Also ME3 will think you played every DLC even if you didn't.
Unknown will it have default choices like with ME1 to ME2.

No. Shepard has been slapped at face enough - especially Sole Survivor which was forced to work for Cerberus. Now Colonist is going to be forced to work with batarian?
I doubt that even my Spacers would agree on that - especially if he'll try to justify slavery or Elysium events. Or seek revenge for events of Arrival. My Earthborns, on another hand...

Having one in the ship would be nice, but not squad mate. I prefer if they give that spot to a returning squad mate!

No, only 5 are confirmed.

1. Garrus
2. Tali
3. Liara
4. Kaidan / Ashley
5. James Vega

Rumor:
6. new leading human female. Maybe vigilante?
7. DLC a prothean

speculation:
8: a new salarian
9. my wish batarian
10. the second DLC: Krogan, Geth or Drell

Its possible, all things are. But i don't see it happening, they are too much the villain of the games, always evil slavers or mercs. And besides, i can't forget what those bas*&£$s did at Elysium!

Why not?
I hope he is really badass batarian.

Wait. Do want only a male batarian or would be a female also be ok?
I would prefer a male one.

There's potential in a Batarian Squadmate, I'll admit that.

I hate to rule out all batarians like slavers and mercs like a lot of people do, so ill just go with a badass batarian engineer that has nothing to do with the hegemony, (like a blue sun)
