I support the idea for a batarian squadmate. I believed many have wished for one since Bring Down the Sky-DLC and many more since the release of ME2.

I hope it'll be a badass former commando who first became an enemy boss Shepard had to fight, but later could recruit him after defeating him (optional, otherwise he'll be killed). He should have an own signature weapon (which could customize like everyone else's, of course). It gives him more character to own a weapon that is unique to others. Of what sort of weapon he should own, I don't know. Maybe something explosive and highly inflammable? He should be clad in a big, heavy armor with helmet, almost like a Terran-armor. And he should be quite muscular with experience, making him more impressive than a ordinary batarian we've seen.

This Batarian could also have a brief yet awesome history with Shepard before the Arrival, like they have fought
each other in the Skyllian Blitz if Shepard have the War Hero-profile. He wants nothing more than to settle the score with Shepard, even if his race and the whole universe doomed by the Reapers.

Plus, he would be excellent candidate for an LI as well. Why? Because not only is it cool to have a Batarian lover, but they could have children together due to the batarians' capability to breed with the humans (or at least, that's what I have heard since ME1). I imagine the relationship is somewhat similar to how Darth Sion feels for the Exile in KOTOR2.

"I hate you because you are beautiful to me"

...Now why do I imagine the batarian to have the voice of SC2's Firebat?

Either way, I'd give both thumbs up for this possibility. B)

If they were going with a Batarain squaddy, I have to agree with Krillo, to some extent. In a way, it would be interesting to have someone who is actually an unrepentant supporter of the Hegemony, and is working with Shepard because he is forced to by circumstances.

If done properly, it would make for interesting interaction between squad members, as well as interesting conversations with Shepard - especially if Shepard has a colonist and/or war hero backgound.

It would be very interesting, but I'm not holding out hope for it. We'll see soon enough.

I'd go for it. The interactions would be interesting, particularly for my canon Shep, since I've never played Bring Down the Sky (or whatever it was called), saved the dying batarian and kept my word and let the other batarians go after they freed Daniel.

A batarian squadmate has so much potential. Even Balak.

YES! YES! YES! I hope to god it happens. Maybe we go to the Batarian home planet to see what shape it's in after the reapers went through it and we pick one up who wants to help destroy the reapers?

Maybe, I havent met a batarian that I liked yet but I could see potential, maybe like he starts out agressive but once you scratch under that surface, he's actually a scared little girl

So with that in mind, I could see a situation where the Batarian Hegemony sends one of their top agents to monitor Shepard after the trial/escape from Earth. Or perhaps just as likely, maybe the Hegemony sends one of their top agents to assassinate Shepard but during the fight Shepard manages to subdue him/her (likely him) and prove the truth that Shepard had no choice but to destroy the system and that the Reapers are responsible for the missing Batarian systems (i.e. where the Batarian husks on Earth came from). The Batarian agent then pledges allegiance to Shepards cause and joins his/her crew against the battle against the Reapers.

There's great potential here. The relationship between Shepard and the Batarian agent could evolve from begrudging alliance to mutual respect to perhaps even friendship.

I support this. :D:alien:

Thanks for the support but I think that the Vorcha haven´t got so much potential for a
squadmate than the batarians.

What are you people thinking?!

A batarian squadmate would be horrible.

Batarians suck, anyway.

Batarian squadmates would either have to pretty much be a human in Batarian skin or would be too deep and too dark for Bioware to delve into in a climax to a trilogy.

How would you deal with the hatred of humans and the slavery and all of the other crap batarians have going for them in a couple week arch that the story seemingly has to go under if you are truly going to save earth?

Of course if you aren't going to save earth, then yeah, sure, go for it.

What do you think is it possible that we get a batarian for the team?

I think its a great opportunity for the ME 3 story.

As long as I have the option to shoot him as soon as he is introduced.

True, there's going to be a big ass Vorcha statue in the presiduim of the Citadel after they save the Galaxy from Husk hordes.
