I know the answer is probably no, but my question is if it would be possible to import a region 2 character from ME2 to a region 1 ME3 retail copy?

I bought my Mass Effect 1 from Amazon, which (probably) shipped it from America, and I'm in Europe. I bought the ME-2 collector's edition in a local gaming shop, and it all worked out fine.
I bought Dragon Age Origins in a local store, and pre-ordered Dragon Age 2 from Amazon.com, again, and it worked out fine.
I'm not sure if the same rules apply to DVD-Rom as for actual, well, DVDs.

I kind of doubt the actual save game file structures are different based on regions. It seems weird that they would differ. I'd think a larger concern would be getting the game to play through region restrictions; if the game runs, the save import should probably work. But honestly I have no idea.
