Hi everyone,
I've been playing Mass Effect 2 since release, and never had any problems until yesterday. The menu opens, I click on play, and then the game goes to a black screen and minimizes. If I try to maximize the window I get sound for a second or two, but then it minimizes again.

It sounds as if you have some new confusion in the notebook's hardware setup. That video system switches between an onboard Chipset video device and an actual Geforce graphics card. The game will run on the card, but not on the chip, which shows the symptom you describe when it is accidentally accessed as the primary graphics device. If the setup (in the CMOS / BIOS ) hasn't been changed, the driver may have become corrupted, or you changed drivers to one of the ones that doesn't handle the switching option correctly.
(Edited: Bogs may have hit the nail on th ehead, however. With only a U7300 Netbook level of a CPU, running games on that weak of a system over a long period may have permanently damaged it.)

Is there anything I can do to fix this issue?

I've just about given up on Geforces now, actually. If you can eliminate the possibility that the CPU has been permanently damaged by the severe stress of running games on it that it was never intended to attempt, so that it's STRICTLY the graphics switching, then you might try the nVIDIA user forums, to see what they are saying.

First thing that I saw was your CPU was only 1.3Ghz, and 1.8Ghz is listed as minimum spec. As you would have been pushing your hardware to the limits due to it being below spec, its entirely possible its now burnt out and will not respond correctly any more.
The only other advice I can give is to download different drivers from Nvidias website and hope tat fixes the problem.
