Oh, and the bar should be very near, if not in the same room as, the mess.

Please, no bar. I don't want any more useless weight dragging on my starship.
The SR2 is already stupidly oversized, presumably to suit TIMs ego.
But then how else am I going to get my LI drunk and in bed with me?
(just kidding)
I still think it would be a cool idea. Would certainly suit my renegade Shep's ego.

There was already a bar in Kasumi's DLC.AshleyS3 wrote...
I'd like to see the crew roaming around the ship, making it seem more alive. They should add a bar too.
The Normandy is getting retrofitted by the Alliance. Retrofits can be anything from adding a sofa somewhere to changing the weapons, the armor, and the shields. I don't know just how much will be changed but I doubt it will be enough for it to be called the SR3, though I do hope they change alot. They could add a few more NPCs here and there, have them walking together, show more quarters, etc. TBH I found the SR2 to be one of the greatest ship in sci-fi history and there is next to nothing that really needs to be added aside from each officer having their own private room and more NPCs.
I hope that Bioware eventually makes a Carrier hub in their future games. The Enterprise in the 2009 Star Trek film stands out as being the most believable sci-fi ship I've ever seen simply because of the size of the crew, the large size of every room including medbay, and the many gadgets and gizmos everywhere (liquid cooling fans for example). It'll be impossible for all of that to be included into the Normandy since its only a frigate, but I hope Bioware eventually tries their hand at their own carrier.

Just turn the observation decks into something more useful, and I'm set.

Outside it may look the same, but looks can be deceiving. How it looks INSIDE will be what makes the biggest difference in my opinion.

And if crewman Hawthorne (or something like that) keeps sitting on his *** eating all the time I will have to write a very negative crew evaluation on him. I hate doing that, please Bioware dont force me to do that it sours the whole afternoon.
P.S. everything should be painted battleship grey - every surface, every interface, EDI, the galaxy map - everything. Just to celebrate not being with Cerberus.

I would like the alliance to fill up all the useless space (observation decks and the huge mess hall that nearly use an entire deck) up with military stuff and military people. The squadmates can sleep in tubes like the rest of the crew.

Considering that we are going to have a galactic war on our hands, I think having more a militaristic orientated ship design can be expected.
On a side note, I like the idea that we should be able to give crew evaluations. Imagine being able to have a minor influence on who is on your crew as well as your squad. You can e.g. write a bad evaluation for a person and get him removed form the ship (score renegade points) or promote him (score paragon points). It can even be more dynamic than that.
It could be that I am overthinking this. Would you want something like this to be added, or would the Normandy become too "much"?

I can handle the elevators. It's just that I can't handle the loading screens between them when I have to visit a lot of my squadmates etc.

They better have kept the captain's quarters the same size it was in ME2. The one in ME1 was too small! x.x

Heh. It was a lot better than hot-bunking the sleeper pods like everyone else on the SR-1 had to do.

Lol, true. I always wondered where the entire would sleep when they only had about 10 pods and a crew of about 20

I should point out that this picture is not from Bioware it is just "fanart".
Whaaaat!!!!!
Indeed, the artist did it as a school project, he had to design something as if he were designing it for a real world company.. he happened to choose Bioware.
Both Bioware and the artist have said that is just fanart (it's been circularing for many months)
