I wanted a cruiser or dreadnaught... But whatever... It's not that important.
A cruiser or a dreadnaught doesn't make sense for the type of operations Shepard and company undertake. Shepard and company are basically like special forces, you want to stealth and agility for that.

This could cause an argument amongst the crew/squad at some point prompting the immortal lineKotorEffect3 wrote...
I havn't read the whole thread so this may have been mentioned, but I would like some kind of war room in the Normandy, a place where we could track Reaper fleet movements and ally fleet movements, that could be where we find Liara in between missions on the Normandy, she could use her SB info network to constantly update the war room.
"there will be no fighting in the war room!"

So for example, it's probably not going to be so airy and comfy, but have more "stuff" crammed into it to support a bigger crew, with the amenities being dialed down while the "warship" aspects of the Normandy are more pronounced.
How that actually translates in what we'll see, I don't know. But I imagine the observation rooms will be gone and replace with something that does not waste space.
Either way, it'll be different enough to be fun to visit again.

Broadside thanix cannons would be nice, self-feeding fish tank, and customizable insignias. Oh, and a Jack In the Box as well.
I'm not sure Jack would take too kindly to being shoved into a box.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the cinematics, gave nice flavor to each station. Just wish you could board the Normandy without actually leaving.
That and the elevator load screens. Really got a bit annoying after a while. The Normandy isn't all that large (compared to some of the other levels), surely they could have loaded most (if not all) into memory at once.
Ah well.

No point in having a big bed if you're gonna sleep alone;) I personally like this since it is safe to assume that the PC is gonna interact with their LI more than any other character on the ship it makes sense to have the LI somewhere close and accessible. Just don't make it like in DA2 where when I finally got Merrill to move in the conversations were already over:unsure:Kadzin wrote...
1. Have the LI move into your quarters with you and stay there.

On a side note, I like the idea that we should be able to give crew evaluations. Imagine being able to have a minor influence on who is on your crew as well as your squad. You can e.g. write a bad evaluation for a person and get him removed form the ship (score renegade points) or promote him (score paragon points). It can even be more dynamic than that.
It could be that I am overthinking this. Would you want something like this to be added, or would the Normandy become too "much"?
I would enjoy it if the Normandy had a file on each of your crew and squad members.
For the squad members have their record list the various missions they participate in and allow Shepard the opportunity to grade or comment on their performance. If these mission reviews also contained additional metrics (such as number of kills) it would be fun to review.
Don’t make this interaction a requirement of the game, this could be something one could completely ignore if they hadn’t the inclination or have Shepard ask his/her admin to handle those duties.
Shepard is the commander of the Normandy he/she ought to therefore perform some command activities like submit Joker for medal.
Perhaps when Shepard returns from a mission he/she will get a written report concerning the performance of some of the crew, and have various paragon/renegade options he/she can select from (possibly some with humorous consequences). *Perhaps making this particular feature a DLC so people can avoid what they may perceive as silliness.

I like this idea. we could compare statistics after each mission to see which team members make the best combination in terms of combat effectiveness.DrSpoonbender wrote...

I'd like to see a return to ME1 style Normandy in that you embark/debark without actually leaving the station you're on. Got a bit annoying in ME2 when all you want to do is apply the new armor upgrade you just bought. Have to wait until you've left (watch the cinematic), change your armor (load screens from the elevator) then go back to what you were doing (more cinematic).

Ah well.
This.
And I liked to see Normandy in ME3 like militaty vessel again. Normandy SR-1 had atmosphere like atomic submarine. While SR-2 is quite a bit larger, even using Alliance colour scheme might get back some of the feeling of SR-1.

Custom paint job.
I can get with this! There's loads of DLC that allows "alternate appearance" for characters, so why not a couple of options for the ship, especially if a character is on the renegade path: paint on the DA dragon or loads of flames or even a "beaten up" battle damaged option.

That is a good point about the alternate appearance packs. It would be cool if we could even make the paint job modular...like our armour in ME2

It always bothered me to see crewmembers holed up in their quarters for just about the whole game. I think an improvement would be to have the crew rotate their locations after a mission. A person that me might first see operating a terminal we might later find eating at the mess hall. That would help to suggest some cycle of activity is going on.
More cross activity between the different members of the squad and crew. It would be nice if you found Dr Chakwas checking on one of your squad after a mission. We could find Kaiden once again visiting Joker as he is piloting the Normandy. Things to let you know there is life going on board the Normandy.
Any upgrades made to the Normandy should also be somehow physically represented. It would be exciting to see this evolution occurring over the course of the game representing in some part the progress Shepard has been making (these are trophies of a rather larger magnitude).

And not just the Normandy, all spacecraft should behave a lot more like the codex describes space combat.
I would also like it to have less rooms. A small, cramped military ship and no luxury cruise ship with weapons.
