I don't like loading screens inside the normandy, that's the onle place I would rather a elevator ride, so it all feels like the same place.
I would also like the armed guards back.
I would like a lighting scheme that is more like the SR-1 lighting scheme rather than SR-2.
I would like debriefings to happen more like they did on the old normandy.
I liked the way the squad were situated in Mass Effect 1. I liked to think that the spoke when I wan't there because Ashley, Garrus and Wrex were all in the same room. In Mass Effect 2 the squad didn't feel united because they were all in their seperate dens.

A mess hall where you can sit down for a meal, each time you sit down it starts a scene with one or more crewmates where you can talk about what is going on, vent your feelings, emotions and thoughts and share your hopes and dreams of the future.
This would make it more immersive for my Shepard to be able to actually portray a personality beyond paragon/renegade decissions. To actually be able to show your emotions to your friends and crew to let them know how you feel about things, to be active rather than reactive.

My copy paste post about wanting stairs on the Normandy:
I want stairs to allow the Normandy to be like a mini hub world where the other characters and crew members can go to floor to floor and actually interact with each other and the world around them. If a character you are looking for is outside of their room, the map should be able to tell you where they are. I don't want a detailed day and night schedule for everyone, just want the Normandy to feel like it actually has life on it by having the crew leave their rooms from time to time. Also, the elevator should still be there for whoever still wants to use it.

I Want saluting Marines at the doors.
I would like the Dragon Age 2 features. Where you could get emotes from noticable features, and your LI moved in with you.

Whenever I am on the ship, want to be able to pause the game and be able to handle ALL of the characters leveling up, upgrades and weapon changes. Handling that on ME1 and 2 was annoying because you could only do one or two characters weapons and skills at one screen. I just want to pause the game on the ship to do all of that. Also, the armory should be smaller because this feature will make it useless. Armory should just be there as an in game gallery of all the weapons you have collected so far. Hey, space has to be saved.

I also think music while walking around like in ME1 would be awesome, it provided an atmosphere that was missing in the SR2.

tbh, im just hoping the newly alliance fitted normandy is better than the normandy sr1, and a little bit more indestructable

1. Weapon testing area.
2. More crew (fewer empty consoles, crew moving about ship, guards patrolling ship).
3. Non OSHA compliant lighting (I liked that dark submarine feel of the SR1).
4. Heavy Weapon Ammo and Medigel restock terminals. Retrain ally powers should be available in the research terminal as well.
5. Self-feeding fish tank.
6. Ability to play music throughout ship.
7. Custom Nose Art (just for giggles).
8. No windows (or those "window lights" on the hull outside the ship) except for the bridge/cockpit.

While the layout of the SR2 was pretty good, I'd like to get darker (more blue) lighting back. It emphasized the instrument and computer lighting and gave the whole ship more of a submarine feeling. They could do this only for the CIC and the bridge. That way, when you get to the crew dec, suddenly the light gets really bright which would underline the contrast between decks.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I also agree with the poster brfore me about the self feeding fish tank. They should have patched this into ME2. I mean, it was fun the first time but come on....
It would also be nice to go from hub worlds like Omega and the citadel abourd the Normandy without immediatly flying away.

How about the game automatically scans C:/Documents and Settings/[User Name]/My Music and plays your own? Can't be TOO hard...
Might not be worth much if you're only in your quarters just to change armor, though.

I want to be able to inspect my model ship collection. Ie. You walk up to the case press inspect and you pick up the model of your choice where you can look at the model and read a description of the ship like maybe a little history or something like that.

I actually like the quiet of the SR2. Not only was the SR1's music mellow and depressing sounding, but it didn't go well with the conversations.

- Talking to people from your cabin screen like in the Arrival (dlc)..how u took the call in your room from hackett on the screen, i'd like to use that more in some instances instead of having to visit every squadmate on different floors just to have a quick conversation.
- Import our own songs into our music player in the cabin and in the ship
-Someone said something about a gun range or a weapons testing area, I like that idea. In me1 the normandy had the quartermaster to get weapons and equipment from, maybe bring that back except have an armor/weapons specialist who sends u messages when a new weapon comes in and u can go and test it out.
- Being in the military going on 8 years now i would like to see more crew interaction. Not saying every floor of the normandy should be full of people but the living quarters/mess hall is one part of the ship that should have a bunch of of crew members interacting, just makes it seem more real to me.
