I agree it would ahve been nice to be able to off-set the expense of buying fuel and probes by maybe selling excess resources or being able to pay for upgrades, the amount of resources you had would determine how many credits you would need to make the upgrade, like say the upgrade costs 50,000 platinum, but you only had 10,000, you could make up the difference with credits, or at least have the option to do it that way.
