Are there dragons in it? I feel like I have to ask that for some reason.

Seriously, make a thread and spoil us silly. Plz...?

[*]Yes. A huge discovery and event.

How huge are we talking here? Like all of Thedas huge? And is this event something overtly "magical" or fantastical?

Couple ofther questions:
  • Any dragons (or are they part of the big discovery and event)?
  • Or any insights into lore surrounding the Old Gods or Darkspawn, specifically the Awakened Dark Spawn?
  • Anything new with the Wardens?
  • Where exactly does it take place? Its in Orlais mostly, right? I think the book description mentioned "Western Wastelands." Is that this area on the map:

So is the Western Wasteland the area by the "Western Approach", "Arl Dumat," "The Urthemiel Plateau,"The Abyssal Reach," and "The Sundered Sea"?
  • Is there an included map in the book?

Just finished the book. Wow just wow. Excellent writing by Mr. Gaider.

Learnt a lot of stuff and it really reinforces Dragon Age 2's story. Can't wait to see what others have to say of it... in the appropriate forum of course.

You tease!

Lawliet89 wrote...

[*]Shale and Leliana too.

Oh yay...that's a bonus...I didn't now she'd be in this novel. Or is it just a mention?

[*]Yea it affects the whole Thedas. [*]Nothing new on dragons, wardens, darkspawns.[*]It's in Orlais and the Western Approach. The most west they got was Abyssal Reach.[*]There is a map!

I received my copy yesterday, from Amazon, despite Amazon insisting I wouldn't be getting it any time soon. So... I guess it's out?

As for characters making game appearances. Well, I hope so. There were some great characters introduced in this novel.

Maybe now some of the DAII bashing will end since people will finally be able to get it.

I'm wondering about this too... I don't have much time to read, but I can listen to audiobooks for 10 hours a day at work and I am very excited to move on to the third novel.

I'll ask here as well... is it going to be available as an e-book in regions other than America any time soon? I can't get it on my Kindle here (I'm in Australia).

Why would that be? Dragon Age is a video game franchise, not a series of novels with video game companions. DA2 still has a medicore story that feels like it was cut short. I shouldn't have to read a book 10 months later to make a video game feel complete.

I just finished it. By far (In my opinion) the best book David had written so far. I'm not an expert on writing or stories but I seem to really enjoy the way he creates characters and how they interact with their world. With this realization I figure I'll enjoy whatever comes next.

I'm spending most of my recent days wondering what will be next for Dragon age. I keep going back to Morrigan and the Warden. If they ever work their way back into the franchise I know It will be an amazing ride.

I thank you for giving me exciting stories and an amazing world that I thoroughly enjoy.

Finished Asunder and I enjoyed it. I'd not post spoilers but It's great to read about Wynne, Shale and Leliana with references to the Warden. I was reading so fast Posted Image that I can't recall if the Champion was mentioned but the event in Kirkwall was. In addition, more details/revelations about the Seekers and situation in Orlais. Another char was introduced but I'm not sure what part he would play in the forthcoming game or if he would be in it at all. Not referring to Rhys, Wynne's son.

Thing is, every time he's mentioned/described in the story, I always think of : stupid Anders Posted Image

Anyways, I really miss the Warden, Leliana, the old gang. Sure wish I would see them again in DA III, especially the Warden. Not really sure if the GW would involve themselves; the crisis is not Blight related but if the mages were totally taken out, they might have a serious problem in dealing with the next Blight. For certain, the next one, if it occurs,it might have a totally new vector to it that would make the previous Blights seem mundane and a love tap; the darkspawn are evolving.

Just finished about 10 minutes ago.  My mind = blown.  Definitely the best of all three Dragon Age books and yet another reminder that this series basically owns me.  Waiting to see what happens next is going to be damn near impossible.

Also, Cole is now my favorite character in Thedas.  DA3 Companion pretty, pretty please?
