I can't wait! Well, I can but I won't be very patient about it.
P.S: Did Gaider mention Shale in the interview? Having Shale again would be pure gold.

If I understand correctly, this book takes place ~9:38, correct? "Two years before the current time" with the current time being 9:40? It should be interesting to see how the events of 9:37 change the templar order in Asunder.
Yes....it would be 9:38.

Looking forward to it. Will this be taking place around the time of DA:O and/or DA2? (Can't see the interview right now, so I don't know if my question is answered there.)
It takes place during the same time as DA2, when Varric is being questioned.

It ties in to what happened at the 7 year mark of DA2 (you know, the big spoiler thing) and the aftermath from that.

David Gaider figured out how to win back my heart after Dragon Age II. Wynne was my favorite character from Origins, and I want to learn more about her mysterious son!
Wynne!
Same. After the lack of Shale in DA2, I was a sad panda.

Not normally interested in game novels, but I must admit Shale being in it has me intrigued...

It explains why Shale was in that book now.
She better make soft, squishy flesh creature jokes. And I wonder if she'll become a dwarf again

She'd have to be a dwarf by that point. We heard the rumors of the pigeon slaying dwarf years before the story takes place.
