@Filament but it is to the northwest of Ferelden.

But if we're talking about Rhys being in Orlais and then heading into the western wastelands that wouldn't intersect with Tevinter. If we are to hypothesize why he'd meet Shale and Wynne, I would guess it's because Orlais is on the imperial highway between Ferelden and Tevinter.

Sweet! Nice to see this finally getting announced. I can stop being cryptic. :)

Like here, you mean?

And somehow, it scrolls to me telling a tasteless quip.

Luckily its my day off so I dont' get denim burns on my... stave. The "King of No Pants" is pleased. *offers 3 months of collected Morrigan Research Thread poster tears upon the altar of Gaider*

Morrigan probably won't be in it. Maybe a mention by Wynne or Shale.

I don't care. Thats not why I'm incredibly, incredibly, damn near painfully aroused. I'm happy because I get more Dragon Age lore. I love Thedas, its a wicked, beautiful, flawed, burgeoning continent on an unexplored world filled with Monsters, Magic, Spirits, and Exotic Peoples who are not your stereotypical fantasy denizen. I'm not a fan of fantasy books and yet I dig the hell outta the DA novels.

In Thedas if there are giant magical birds people can ride from place to place to get important sh*t done they won't walk for the sheer "honor in walking" they will bloody saddle the f**k outta those birds and do what needs to be done. *shakes his head at LOTR*

How many books are there? Is there a list somewhere?

That's pretty much what I was saying. For all we know Rhys will meet Wynne and Shale in Tevinter, she'll have mother's intuition that he is her son, help her out, go west to the wastelands, and then find out they need to go to Tevinter.

Or, Shale's a dwarf now and they just follow Rhys because Wynne has mother's intuition.

What's funny to me is that I expect people will be outraged that Wynne is now alive again (she was merged with a Spirit that kept her alive so there's the reason why she would be alive still), but no one's said anything regarding Shale still being alive even though you can kill her in Anvil of the Void. Or if you pick the wrong choices in camp. I guess no one killed Shale.

Or it could be that Wynne simply came looking for her son

I had no interest in David Gaider's prior two "Dragon Age" novels. A novel centered around a mage that also includes my favorite sassy golem? *That* piques my interest. :) Sounds like fun.

When are you not cryptic, David? ;)

Dave Gaider ordering lunch:

"Yes, I'll have some kind of bun like bread thing, with some meat squashed like a hockey puck in the middle with some cheddar on top of the meat and a cucumber that has been soaked in brine and spices with just a touch of purreed tomato."

You mean you want a cheese burger with pickles and some ketchup?

"Yes, that is what I just said."

I heard Snape kills her.

Naah, Lord Voldemort :P

Cool, finally something to look forward again, what considers Dragon Age. Will make sure to read it.

One question: Is the story canon?
I ask that because of the possible death of Wynne and Shale.
Is this the same situation like Leliana where you ignore this.

The nature of a novel being what it is, it has to establish its own canon. Many elements will be similar to the game's (most of them, actually), but beyond that a book just isn't going to be able to react to your personal choices. That's self-evident, I'd hope.

Like I said before: Wynne was saved once by a Spirit of Faith (or what she believes to be a spirit of faith anyway). There's no reason why it couldn't do it again.

"Oh come on Wynne! I saved you once and you decide to try and turn in a blood mage? You're an idiot! *Sigh* fine......"

There's no problem with that imo. Wynne being alive is fine.

A pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed the first two books and am glad D.G. is getting a chance to write another one. :)

...Hopefully it'll be a nice Dragon Age palate cleanser after DA2. ^_^

Not normally interested in game novels, but I must admit Shale being in it has me intrigued...

This. I always want more Shale. No one else understands my hatred for birds. Not the way Shale does at least.
