so for the mass effect 3 campaign is it going to be a timed camaign? where for instance you have only so many hours to free roam? or will you be able to take all the time you need like mass effect 2?

We don't know yet, but I highly doubt it will be timed.

I really, really doubt it would be timed, unless they decided to add it as a feature for insanity.

Open world, or in this case galaxy, yet have it timed? I hope not, and I really doubt it. My penalize the players who would like to explore rather than to plow straight through the game.

Maybe some missions are timed based, fine. Now not a whole campaign.

That would suck. It'd put far too much pressure on the player to enjoy the game, so I'd assume it's safe to say they won't make it timed in any way. Parts of the game, maybe (like in ME2 where you'd only be able to do one mission after acquiring the IFF before losing your crew).

only reason I ask is because while your doing the free roam earth is under siege from the reapers so thats the only reason I ask is because I dont want it where for instance a planet dies every 2 hours you dont do anything trying to build your character.

No chance that it will be timed. None at all.

Nope. I'd imagine it's not, since Casey and many others have said that the game will reward those who are doing a lot of side missions. So a timed campaign would be a little stupid. And annoying.

I hope time doesn't come into play. Unless it's done in the Arrival fashion or N7: Imminent Ship Crash, or even the N7: Javelin Missiles Launched. Those are timers that I didn't mind even on Insanity. But timing an entire main campagne? No.

Yes, but it's still just a game. Pretty sure in that regard, Bioware would want players to enjoy the game as much as possible, having it timed would negate that enjoyment and would make a player rush through the game.

This is a good example of when to suspend your disbelief.

Actually with regards what Casey said... it has me wondering how they'll set the 'final battle' up. Because to me it basically sounds like... if all you do is the main missions then you are going to be in for a very messy fight, whereas if you do all side stuff and build your allies up then you'll stand a better chance. So basically put, for the first time in the series, sidequests really mattering?

I think decisions made during the main missions will play a huge factor as well.

There will likely be a point of no-return like in ME1 / ME2... but Casey Hudson has said that exploration is a key part of ME3, so that clearly implies we'll be free to roam about as we did in ME1 & ME2... most likely as long as we haven't triggered specific plot events (In other words... like in ME1, don't do plot missions first... do all your side quests and all the exploration you can first.... then when all that is done, go back to the plot mission).

If they make it timed, there would be no way to enjoy the fact that this is supposed to be the culmination of all your work/character interaction from ME 1 and 2. It does seem feasible that they might make insanity timed as discussed here earlier, but I believe even that is unlikely.

No, I doubt they do that. There was one in ME2 with your tech specialist in the ventilation shaft. (Exactly how long does that timer last? About 90 seconds? With about one minute elapsed before you see the timer?)

Having been bult upon the idea of "Taking your time," I doubt they do anything to negate it
