In the "A Test of Faith" quest you meet Brona, Andraste's mother. But I thought Brona was Andraste's name before she became Andraste.
Is that right or am I just misremembering? Or is there some kind of tribal tradition where daughters can share names with mothers (like the Senior/Junior thing)?

I'm unaware of Andraste changing her name. Where does it say that she originally had the same name as her mother?

No, her mother is called Brona, she's always been called Andraste
