of Sarens suicide having no effect whatsoever on mass effect 2? It would seem an action as -for lack of a better word- monumental would have lasting ramifications but I heard or saw no mention of it. Is this a plot oversight, or have I just not been observant enough?
What do you all think...

My thought is that it isn't intended to have any more ramifications beyond the moment when Saren realizes his error -- though I could be proven wrong.
I took it as more of a moment of revelation.
curious inquiry: What did you think might or should have carried forward into ME2?

at least a mentioning of it perhaps a turian talking about saren the "coward" who didnt want to fight like a man or maybe shepard bringing it up at some point or even something as subtle as shepard not mugging the **** out of his statue on the kasumi dlc

Shephard and the two squadmates are the only two who see Saren kill himself, so I suppose it makes sense that its not mentioned

It's just a free pass to dodge the fight with Saren, involving an epic cutscene (I think it's epic anyway... getting him to an hero like that).
No need for consequences beyond that.

^^i concur. although i also wanted some mention of me getting saren to kill himself, it makes sense why they wouldnt talk about it in dialogue. its hard enough for those morrons to believe shepard on the reapers, let alone bragging rights like,
"your top spectre is dead and i didnt even need to fire a bullet, air quote that you turian bastard!!!"

With Saren and the Geth taking control of Citadel systems? None you'd rely on.

So what are you saying, people would think the geth showed him killing himself for lolz?

But Saren didn't necessarily commit suicide, correct? (I mean, I always Hannibal Lecter'd him into it, but I hear the other option is you have to kill him.)

I always thought that the Saren statue in the Kasumi DLC for ME2 was the direct ramification from him committing suicide and thus redeeming himself. Who else would want a statue of a traitor to the entire galaxy? Not me.

I love that scene, with Shepard staring at the Saren statue, gaze full of meaning.

As do I. It's a funny inversion; in the first game, Shep is the main person decrying Saren, and then in the second it seems like Shep is the only one with any inkling of respect for him (assuming one charmed/intimidated him into suicide).kglaser wrote...

Yes, true but mass effect has consequences for ALL the multiple choices except this one...kglaser wrote...

I would see if they chose a somber musical peice to play if you pargaded him into suicide but, there is none..just a stare like Peter gives the chicken on family guy.tomas2377 wrote...
