I couldn't find any clarification to this, so I come here to ask about it and raise attention to this issue if need be.

For those of you guys unaware, having a multi-core CPU in ME2 extended loading times by quite a margin (people have reported loading times of up to ten minutes in extreme cases), forcing us to disable extra cores in task manager, run the game with a special, user created executable that did this automatically, or to eat it up.

As none of this alternatives are acceptable, I come to ask if Bioware took notice of this and fixed it for ME3 (or if the Unreal Engine has grown to acommodate this).

Apologies if this has already been discussed.

This seems like an isolated issue, considering I have 4 cores, and have never encountered this issue. I didn't disable anything.

What he said. The longest load ever in ME2 for me was ALWAYS loading the bridge/galaxy map area. Which was 15 seconds. (Which was really long considering loading planets and missions was near-instantaneous).

Never experienced that. In fact, I've heard quite the opposite - that you must tweak your game if you have only one CPU core. What are you saying here doesnt quite make sense.

I remember reading about disabling cores to improve load times. I tried it a few times to see if it did anything, and I never noticed a difference.

Made quite a difference for me, it was very noticeable while loading the CIC, but happened every single time.

The issue showed up on some other games, Rise of the Argonauts is one that comes to mind. With more than a single core active the game became unstable and would crash frequently.

The problem occurred (rarely) only on dual cores from what I understood, not quadcores (though not on either of my computers, both of which are core 2 duos).

Here's hoping it happened enough times to warrant an investigation and latter fix. I got my fingers crossed, but official clarification would be nice.

Actually that happens if you have dual core, that doesn't happen with quad. At least that was the case for me. It was annoying to wait squad selection and weapons.

The most annoying thing by far is the loading times in general. Stuff usually loads in <=second yet I have to wait the whole ****ing loading video.
What a waste of time.
