So I was going to come here and post what is happeneing and what you can expect, but reading Bannor Bloodfisst post, and seeing how I am part of a terrible horrible company, I'm just going away now.

After all, that's what we do now, right?

Boy talk a bout a slap in the face. You have issue with a post from a few people and decide to stick it to everyone? That's not like you, Chris, and I'm very disappointed. Posted Image

Yeah. I realize this is meant to be an informal environment, but this kind of unprofessionalism makes me a little embarassed to be a huge Bioware fanboy.

I'm still a huge Bioware fanboy though.

Wow... the documentation on the file formats was also used by KotOR1/2 and Jade Empire modders. It was also quite useful for NWN2, Dragon Age, TW1 and the like.

Also Chris P's comment isn't really the nicest way to treat someone who made a significant contribution of bug fixes and testing for the 1.69 patch for free is it? :(

I for one would really appreciate knowing what is happening and what I can expect.  If there is some kind of personal beef standing in the way of that, I would ask that it please be put aside.

Thank you.

Thanks to Lightfoot  et al. for getting started collecting some of the vitals.  I myself, many moons ago, decided to start porting over some of the sticky information (hence the infamous Linux install sticky), and the copy/paste process was so painful and time-consuming with the BSF text interface (adding white space and line breaks galore!) that it was my one and only effort.  Pretty colors... but what a PITA.

Perhaps, as this information becomes compiled, it would be better to assign an official useful topic title to the data and place in the applicable subforum?

As for the Priestly comment, either it is a pseudo bot ruse that happened to fire off or Chris's better half (if he has a better half, that is) had him sleeping on the couch last night.  A single rant post would never have influenced the "real" Mr. Priestly who has done loads to support the NWN community in the past.

Um yeah....something official (other than a post being upset at one individual) and clear from Bioware or EA about what has happened to the old frums would at least be a nice courtesy to those of us here.

When you've got countless hours invested into creating CC for a game - not to mention the enormous collection of information linked from those forums that the CC Community relies upon, people fail to see ANY humor in the type of remark made by Chris.

All we want is information, not cheesy comments and excuses.

Things change, especially in the web era.  They change far too fast in many cases.  I agree that warning would have been good, and I don't hang out here enough to comment on whether or not it was ever given.  Pragmatically speaking, though, while I am sad about the loss of the old forum content, I am most uneasy about having no record of all my NwN keys as this was the only place I stored them.  This thread is majorly burning at the moment, but maybe Bioware could at least post where we can retrieve that information for future reference? Please? :)
Thanks in advance.

is this a joke?  we need information, like in the form of an announcement.  who cares what people say.

Tassie Wombat wrote...

So does this also mean there is no
way to register your CD keys? What about setting up an account for
multiplayer gaming?

I need my registration keys.  there are no way to register these in the Social Forum either.

Won't this have an effect on the GOG sales as well?

I do not see why it would.  The GoG version is already patched to 1.69.

If you're currently playing NWN, then look in your main NWN folder for the nwncdkey.ini file. They'll be shown there and you can copy/record them to a safe place.

As a customer in good standing who has loved and supported Bioware games for a long time as well as contributed to the community, your post is childish and insulting.  I will be including your post and all relevant information in my emails to EA and Bioware.   There is little to no excuse for your behavior regardless of your feelings on someone's post, and your attitude can only serve to hurt your company in future game endeavors.

As for the rest, I know many of my friends still play Nwn casually and thousands of builds stored on the old forums are simply gone.  I'm going to hope that these forums are simply being archived and temporarily unavaliable, but certainly we need to have that information.  If that is not the case, it is inexcusable to simply wipe the forums without giving us advance notice so that we could save any information we wanted to keep.

tl:dr be less of a jerk and pretend you are in an official position to interact with the communityPosted Image

I am tempted to just report the post as trying to start a flame war.

Here is the direct root directory for Neverwinter Nights legacy forum.

It looks as if Web Archive has everything from 2005 up to 2009.

first, I currently don't have it installed.  and second, aren't those cd-key's on not the registration keys?  that's what you block as a server to ban someone isn't it?
