Very gracious, Chris, props. I empathized with your reaction, frankly, though I found myself irritated with most of the posters in this thread, regardless of which side they were taking. :P

I do owe everyone here an apology.

When I made my post yesterday, I was aware that the websites had been taken off line for back end web work, but was not yet aware of the extent of the problem or the eventual information that is now available. I did allow some rather juvenile comments to get my hackles up and instead of just saying "we are running some back end checks and will have more information for you shortly", I overeacted.

I was not aware of the extent of the issue (no one was at the time of my post, it was uncovered by dillegient work by our website and IT group), but this does not excuse what I said. For this I do apologize to those I offended.

If you have not read BioWare Studio Manager Aaryn Flynn's explanation of why the NwN information was removed without notice, you can do so HERE.

We are still investigating what we can do next for the NwN information, forums, website and CD Keys. When we have more information, we will let you know.

Thank You Chris for providing this info.

Um... I lost most everything in an EF-5 tornado on May 22. I JUST got my computer back up and running.

I was able to save my CDs/DVDs for NWN1 and NWN2... but I don't have the CD Keys anymore. I was going to log into my account and get my CD Keys so I can play NWN and work on projects... but now I can't access those CD Keys anymore... I NEED those...

Any way I can access them?

I had one full suite of NWN1 plus every single premium digital download, one Diamond Edition suite, one Gold Edition set plus Hordes of the Underdark, and a full set of NWN2 with the digital download Westgate.

Plus, my Knights of the Old Republic games CD Keys are on there also.

Ugh... the timing of this couldn't be worse. Even a week later, I could have accessed and installed those games to my new laptop.

The paper CD Keys were all destroyed by the 8+ inches of rain that drenched the house after the roof was torn off and the walls caved in on my tornado-stricken home.

Hi Chris,
Very big of you..

But in any case, can we get a confirmation of whether our CDKeys were among the potential data stolen?

I am one of the ones who got the e-mail, so Im just concerned that next time I try to log into online play, it may say that my CDKey is in use elsewhere.

Wow
I guess suddenly my life doesnt seem that bad.
Tough Luck, Tornado, Timing, and now CDKey's in-accessible.

Thanks for the update, Chris. This should be a lesson to everyone not to jump to conclusions and accusations.

Euh, I don't know if that could help but I found my CD keys stored in that 'nwncdkey.ini' file in my own NWN directory, thanks to the one of you who posted the info recently right here, in that very thread... some time ago.

Thank you Chris. That's big of you.

Thank God this was an act of self-defense and not stupidity. I've been a Bio fanboy for too long to be able to understand a decision like that. It would be like finding out your best friend died from having unprotected sex with prostitutes. You want to feel bad but all you can really muster is keeping your exclamation of "******" under your breath at the funeral.

Chris, thanks again. Please keep us informed on developments, would you?

Also, I am sick a bit, because I got a thrill seeing the Dev tag posted in our new social NWN forum. :~|

Sorry to see the old forums go. I had good times there back when I first got Platinum, though I doubt I posted enough for anyone to remember me. I'm glad to see that the community survives and continues to move forward (and let me tell you I am SO GLAD I kept my manual with the CD keys...).

Hope I see you guys in a PW sometime.

Thanks for the post, Chris. Really does help when we get information as to what is going on.

So as far as I am concerned, no apologies necessary. Just glad to hear more about what happened.

It would be nice if the old cd keys we have archived there could be made available or moved into the new data base.

I know it would be work on your part :(
-
Maybe they could be added to our profile here in some easy fashion ?

Forget about archiving...
If those CDKeys have been stolen, they need to be de-activated, and we need to be issued replacements.

Thanks for the update, Chris.

Please keep us informed as more information becomes available.

Ok, move along, move along! Nothing more to see here. Shouldn't you all be playing NWN somewhere?

Thanks from me too for the update, which makes what you posted earlier quite understandable due to stress.

Also, sorry to hear of your misfortune, Chokra Broodslayer! I really does put everything into perspective.
