Since I'm kinda done playing the game over and over again and read the entire Mass Effect Wikia more than once as well, I thought it might be a good idea to order Mass Effect: Retribution to kill another week or more while waiting for march. And probably read it again.
But did anyone here read all the comics, novels and played that iPhone-game? Because I'm wondering which are the best. I was thinking about Retribution because of that guy in the book that will be a charachter in Mass Effect 3. Or are the pre-Mass Effect 1-stories better?
I mean, I could just read them all in the right order, but perhaps some are really not worth it to order and wait for, you know.
Also, how serious is the release date of the Mass Effect Movie. On IMDB it says 2012, but I guess they only started writing the script and did nothing else yet.
The Mass Effect novels (killing time until 2012)

Actually, Revelation was the only pre-ME1 story of the novels. Ascension takes place between the first two games, and Retribution is after ME2.
As for the quality of them, opinions do vary, but they can, at least, help to kill the time. (plus there's a fourth one-Deception, due out in January).
Personally, I like to read things in order, but that's entirely up to you.
But the comics are meh.., they tend to distort the lore a lot & have the weakest stories.
On the subject of the movie, I have no clue whatsoever about it - sorry on that one.

Thanks! Does Retribution by the way contain events and characters I won't understand without having read the earlier novels?

Won't understand? No, but reading the earlier books will introduce you to them.Schrijver wrote...

There are characters in Retribution that'll have more weight if you've been introduced to them before.
