I just bought DAO Ultimate Edition for the PC since I loved it on PS3. Anyway, when I start a new game and gain control of my character, the frame rate drops and slows.

I don't know much about computers, but this is on the side of my tower.

Windows 7 64-bit
AMD Sempron 140 Processor
3GB DDR3 System memory
500GB Hard Drive
NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE integrated graphics

I just got this comp about 3 months ago, so I'm wondering do I have to upgrade something so soon, or is it something I can do within the game options?

Please help! Image IPB

You bought a system that has no actual video card, and in fact has a very VERY elderly onboard video chip, dating back six years, to the Geforce 6n00 generation. Chipset video chips cannot be used to play games. They aren't meant for that. You need to go out and buy a proper gaming quality video graphics card.

If in fact you do have an actual "Tower" enclosure, rather than one of those silly slimline things, here's a fairly nice graphics card for $84:

Well, what a crock! Brand new system, too... *sigh* I'll see what I can find around here.

Thank you for the reply.

Don't just go into some brick & mortar place like Best Buy; you'll get ripped off. If you go to Fry's, you can do a lot better, and don't just grab the cheapest you can find, since it will hardly be any improvement.

If the PC you have is in any of the odd "slim" shaped cases, I don't know right off it this year's Radeon gaming cards are available for those yet.  Here is last year's HD 5670 at a special after rebate price of $47, ready for either a regular shaped PC Tower box, or one of those skinny enclosures:

Okay, thank you. I really hate going to Best Buy as you said I'd get ripped off.. So I'll go to Fry's and get it there. Again thank you for the information and the link.

I was looking at the Low Profile MSI HD 5670, which comes with the standard bracket only, and you need two of the short ones to convert it, but Newegg doesn't have a kit with those in it specifically for that card.  Instead, there is this:

There are a lot more brackets than needed, and it's $13 more on top of the $46.

Thank you for the links and the help. I think I'll try to find the one in the link you provided, and if I can't I'll just order it from newegg.

We will be interested in the outcome. I hope you will be playing the game and enjoying it soon, if you had to wait on a mail order delivery.
