New to the forums, sorry if its not in the right location.

I preorderd the CE yesterday and I'm looking to begin my final ME1 and ME2 playthroughs for ME3. I own a 360 so I have to buy Genesis from the Marketplace, to people who own Genesis would it be better to just download Genesis to pick all the decisions instead of playing through ME1 again.

I enjoy ME1 but I enjoy ME2 so much more. I know I will miss out of side quest but they IMO have almost no effect on the story other than a few couple lines of dialogue and a few e-mails I never read.

Thanks in advance.

If you are only bothered about the main choices, then yeah you might as well just get Genesis.

If you only care about the decisions about your LI, the Racni Queen, the VS/Wrex, and the council then use Genesis. If there is more decisions you would like to see from ME1 in ME2 and ME3 then do another playthrough of ME1.
Personally genesis down plays ME1 so much that it feels wrong to use it but that's just me.

If you have a Windows based PC, or even a Mac/Linux box able to do Windows emulation, you might be better off getting Gibbeds save game editor and using that to modify you ME1 choices in the ME2 save game file. It will work with Xbox saves. See this thread for details.

wow i didnt realize thats what it did, i thought maybe you could just oversee decisions or something. kind of weird people would want to just do it that way other than play thru the first game. i still think ME1 is very fun, so now knowing this, i doubt i would get genesis.

I tried getting back into ME1... But lost interest after my 3rd mission on random planet :(... And I found the combat just so clunky compaired to ME2. So genesis for me until my interest flares up again in me1.

I agree. Mass 1 is fantastic until you play Mass 2. Then you go back to it and are almost disgusted by the gameplay (note- story still awesome... With the exception of Liara, Kaidan and Ashley). Genesis lets you avoid the **** gameplay and focus on the story things that change up some stuff in Mass 2. Worth it, totally

Yeah, and the "unimportant" choices all get skipped. And Kaidan is called "a good kid".

I'm assuming that those choices aren't going to affect Mass 3 aside from possible cameos. Shiala, Kirrahe, even Balak, probably are all mostly unimportant for the next game. It's mainly those main choices that will likely make a real difference in the future.

Not to be dumb, but does anyone know how to activate Genesis for use on the PC?  I downloaded it from BioWare's site, but I can't find any way to actually USE it.  How do you play it?
