 Hi,

Very excited about ME3 I have just pre ordered the CE from Game.

One thing I would like to see in ME3 is a more mature representation of females in the game. I found it unexcetable and embarrassing  that a large percentage of the female characters tend to wear inappropriate clothes. Look at Jack for an example!

You can create attractive, interesting women without them going into battle wearing a bikini  and having a chest that resembles two waters melons being taped together.

I think Bioware should use famous cult scifi characters as inspiration.

Sarah Coner
Ripley
Aeryn Sun
Sam Carter

These characters are really important in Scifi and their impact would have been lost if they were portrayed the way Bioware portrays it's females charcters.

A large percentage? Most of the women in ME2 dressed rather conservatively. Jack is a big exception.

Also, Ashely Williams and Tali. Both badass, both known to rock more conservative looks.

Jack in armor is about as offensive to me as Ashley in a catsuit would be to others.

It just doesn't fit her character at all.

And femshep.

However, Miranda's ass.

Sexy outfits are okay, but no need to rape my eyes every time I try to talk to the woman.

1, maybe 2 out of 8 female squadmates over Mass Effects 1 and 2 have shown any amount of skin at all. 6 out of 8 of them have their entire bodies covered from toes to neck.

Bikinis my ass. Stop whining.

Also Samara's outfit was ridiculous, blatantly using her Biotic powers to maintain her dignity.

To an extent, true.  Jack running into a firefight half-naked makes sense, and I hardly felt her outfit was sexualized due to the way it was handled.

However, bad idea to do that in subzero weather with a toxic atmosphere.

Also, there is a time and place for high heels.

Yeah, I like to think I'm a feminist at heart and I'm totally against the ridiculous portrayal of women in most video games, but even I thought Jack was fine. She doesn't exactly seem like the jeans & tshirt type, and she seems too much of a risk taker to bother with armour. Plus she's got pretty tattoos. Otherwise, I completely agree with this thread's initiative.

While we're at it, can we talk about how ridiculous Jacob looked?

*says this as a person who actually likes Jacob*

For Jack it make sense and ironicly, she's less attractive then Miranda and Samara.

If it bothers you have Alternative Appearance Pack 1.

Also Ashley will have armor and helmet in ME3. Casey confirmed it.

This catsuit is indoors only.

I rather like Samara's look it. It has this feeling of a goddess, real regal and powerful and mysterious. It's sexy, but at the same time, respectful. Hard to explain, but she pulls it off.

Yeah, I know about the Ashley thing. I just know it bothered a LOT of people at the time and it would equate to messing with some of the ME2 characters IMO.

I feel they could have all been done better. You don't go into battle with your ****** hanging out.

I would also say look at the re-branding of Tomb Raider.

I'm not bothered by what the female characters in Mass Effect wear or how they are portrayed to be honest. I think they are all pretty well covered up and respectful compared to other games. Maybe just zip up Samara's suit if it  bothers people? I thought it fit her character.

This. As for Jack, her clothing style completely fits her personality. There really is nothing to complain about. And even if it didn't 2 or 3 characters dressing in a sexy fashion does not equate to "a large percentage of the female characters tend to wear inappropriate clothes." Try actually taking a look at all the female npcs you come across in the game OP, or do you close your eyes for a majority of the game and only open them when talking to Jack, Miranda and Samara?

She does, oddly.

I only take issue with stupid outfits when they infringe upon the character, as was the case of Miranda until AAP2.  I mean, sure, one butt-zoom would have been okay and a funny little joke, and Bioware had the grace to make fun of themselves in-game for it, but after a while it got a bit annoying.

Like I said, sexy is okay.  In fact, it's great!  But there's more to beauty than large breasts and firm buttocks.  It comes in all shapes and sizes, and in many cases it takes time to discover and won't be seen by everyone.  Let the character come first--let the player fall in love with that.  Let his or her personality and uniqueness shine through.  Because, to be honest, when we find something sexy, we find it that way largely by accident.

Rippling muscles?  Lush lips?  Whatever.  Garrus is an ugly space dinosaur and Tali has chicken legs and no face.  Not that I don't like rippling muscles and lush lips, but they're more fun when not every major bang-able character has them.

Also, confirmed that Ash has armor?  YES.  SO HAPPY.

This. I wasn't bothered by the outfits the women on the game wore. It fit their personality.
