•Slow down combat a bit and better enemy placement , no more raining men (on the right track with Legacy)
•Mix up the enemies tactics more
•Morrigan
•Want to know what happened to the Warden
•Better main character
•Epic story
•A lot more customization option when making your characters (more tattoo designs, hair styles, eye colors, blood marks, earring, facial scars)
•Consequences from my choices from Origins, Awakening, and DA2
•Choices with more consequence
•Bring back the cool love scenes from DA2
•Ability to talk to companions whenever I want not just when I have a quest and the rest of the time I get a generic response. Even if you can’t just randomly talk when your exploring make it possible when we are in the camp or homes or whatever
•Flemeth
•Mabari
•Female quanari/kossith LI
•To see the architect and Corypheus
•Origin stories, there doesn’t have to be six but maybe like three stronger Origins
•Race selection
•Redesign elves and darkspawn (Hurlocks especially)
•More Dragons
•Ability to travel again
•Companion armor customization (I don’t mind the new proposed changes for it)
•Strong characters
•The Fade
•More amazing music
•Maybe new weapons (spears, chakrams, etc.) for each class
More armor appearences. I dont want to equipped different armor and look the same.I want the armor to look cooler and have some thats more individual. For example I really liked Morrigan's look. It was really different, not cliche, it said "I am a bad a**". I want some more thoughtful designs like the that, with the cool hoods and styles. (Oh the item packs their releasing have some pretty cool designs I just dont want to have to pay for all the good armor.
Cross class abilities
•Or the ability to sort of mix the moves from the skill trees you know to make like a mixed tree
•class specific abilities (like Rogue= sneaking)
•Quanari
•God child
•I want the chance to sacrifice yourself again for the good of the world (Warden- Ultimate sacrifice), it really made the game so much better knowing that you weren’t going to beat the odds and never be in danger.
•More variety and better looking armor (in the original DA2 I really only liked Champion Armor)

My wishlist:

- flawless import from earlier games
- focus on story, polish and execution, not a new engine
- meaningful choices
- tactical camera
- open world
- mounts!
- better loot than DA2
- the darkspawn and elven design need some tweaking
- more character options, look, race and tactics
- slower, more tactical combat
- finishing moves
- crafting system as in Awakening
- dynamic environment: weather, day/night, ambient noises, pedestrians
- random events to enhance replayability
- story based on earlier events and established lore
- characterdriven, nonlinear main story
- main story must deliver according to the DA2 epilogue
- better sidequests, Hawke's letterbox made sense but got tiresome
- Hawke and Warden return as companions
- returning companions: Lelianna, Varric, Oghren, Isabella
- cameo appearances is fun, but must make sense
- returning locations is ok, even fun, but 80% of the environments should be new
- returning locations must change over time
- continue Merrill and Morrigan's stories

In fact, I think GTA is a much better model than Call of Duty.

Slow down combat marginally, somewhere between DAO and DA2.
Put care into encounter design like in Legacy.
Isometric tactical camera.
No recycled areas.
Make rogue and mage animations more realistic. Keep mage combat the same otherwise with default attacks based on the staff type.
Return of specs bard, ranger and battlemage.
Morrigan
Better archer talents
Look at implementing a persuasion system like Deus Ex HR
Continue refining the friendship/rivalry system.
More freedom to converse with companions.
More fulfilling romance scenes.
Move passive talents to a new skill tree.
I'd like to see the ability trees become 1 complex interlocking web for each class dunno how realistic this is though.

My Wish list is:

An import from DAO
Finishing moves from DAO and the ability to block incoming attaks with high dexetrity
Lelianna (romanced from DAO)
Darkspawns original design from DAO
Desiples and the architect
morrigan, Allistair, sten, shale, oghren
More reference to Origin choices
The warden as NPC (personally support PC)
Bigger map and more unexpected interruptions
More realistic combat but faster
Qunari possible invasion
Return to ferelden
Skill points such as Cohersion

Hawke cameo
Vioced protaganist with the dialouge options from DAO wich had 8 kind of options
Varric, isabella,merrill
mage combat should be from DA2
graphic from DA2 but a little better
Learn more about the mage/templar war and moral choices ( let mages be free but risk an demon of pride to cross the viel unnoticed and summon an army of demons) ( help the mages but a group of despots want revenge)
choices that you made in DA2 also have an impact

Off the top of my head:

* A new less terrible voiceactor for male Hawke
* More Qunari, they're one of the more interesting factions of the DA world.
* More ''emotional'' atmosphere in DA3 (I hardly ever cared about anyone in DA2)
* Better hud, the hud in DA2 was way to modern, bland and didn't fit at all.
* At least a few alternative armors for the characters, I kind of like the individual look of the party but some diversity wouldn't hurt.
* Bigger maps, the maps in DA2 were tiny. The Brecilian forest of DAO is a nice example of a big-ish map.
* A different protagonist than Hawke (one can dream)
* Polearms -> Spears, halberds, warforks
* Slower combat, lets say down to 75%
* Less jerky and more fluid combat and no combat teleportation
* No ridiculous backflips and spin-kicking flasks (WTF?)
* No more enemy waves, they were terrible
* Get rid of the dialogue wheel, its irritating. DAO dialogue version worked fine.
* More enemy diversity, no more fighting thousands of clones and mooks
* Quality instead of quantity in fights, less filler fights and more challenging intense fights
* No more recycled areas / maps.
* Female Qunari, its time to see the artwork of the Female Qunari come to life!
* No Kirkwall in DA3. Enough is enough.
* More down to earth and sane characters and NPC's in DA3. Dealing with crazies all the time got really tiresome and stupid in DA2.
* Exploring more of Thedas in DA3, Thedas is huge yet we have explored like 15% of the whole world.
* A better character designer, it was very hard to design an acceptable face in DA2, it was much easer in DAO.
* A return of the following characters: Varric, Merrill,

- More ambushes. There are only what, 3 in DA2?
- Make Junk Items useful or get rid of them.
- More party armor. Isabela can have at least 3 unique outfits, no? (ie. Day clothes like in DA2, roguish armor, evening wear...?)
- More open/diverse environments.
- Don't railroad me into a streamlined story.
- More character interaction.
- Renegade interrupts so I can punch Fenris, Sebastian, the Grand Cleric or characters of their ilk when they ****** me off. (Ignorance is NOT justification you Old Crone...)
- More Merrill (brilliantly, brilliantly portrayed by her VA Eve Myles- left me in stitches most of the game)
- More Varric
- More Cassandra Pentegast, with a name like that, I HAVE to have her in my squad.
- Bring back armor set bonuses and make them useful (for the different types of armor, not just the one or two sets of 'hero' armor)
- More diverse weapon and armor designs.
- Something more creative than "Ring, Ornate Ring, Greater Ring" etc.
- OH YEAH, a way to ensure imports get everything right ie. an import "checklist" that lets you confirm your previous choices and/or make corrections before starting the game.
- Some kind of conclusion to Hawke's and the Warden's stories. Seriously, the end of DA2 was a straight up ******-off.
- If there is going to be more of the 'PC gets Letters' system, it would be nice to be able to respond to the letters in a similar way that we respond to characters. ie you get one of those comical 'spam' or 'scam' letters and you get the option to send money like a sucker, or send a threatening letter, etc. Or, someone like Charade, you can send them info on what you are doing and have them respond in different ways.

PS- no more hi-def faces on low-def armor please!

  • In Orlais please. IN MOA so cool country
  • Nathaniel and Cullen as LI. And BI.
  • Cassandra and Tailis as LI. and BI too.
  • More talkative quests.
  • Less enemies, but hard like the Withcer 2.
  • Cool armor like champion armor.
  • Choises like DAO Elf-Common. So cruel, so dramatic.
  • Origins. At least please show the difference between life mage or warrior.
  • Reaction on mage PC. In DA 2 I walk in Gallow and no one tells me about it. Let the templars to hunt for PC.
  • Please tell more about characters in books (Calling). Mentions, meet their family.
  • One passionate and active LI for MPC. Like Anders. I really was glad when he do the first step.

I'd just like to say that this is long confirmed.  They plan to have a new protagonist for each game, which I actually like quite a bit. :D

-Combat similar to Legacy (in terms of how enemies appear, tactics, etc).
-Fuller main plot (instead of being made up of numerous mini-quests like DA2).
-Plenty of companion interaction (the banter and companions visiting each other was great) and personal quests.
-Some focus on the main character's motivations and personal life (like DA2).
-More moral choices with some sort of consequence (like DAO).
-Warden/Orlesian and Hawke to play some role (whether in person or through the main character hearing about what they're doing).
-Personal companion armour (like DA2), but with alternate sets so they aren't wearing the same thing all the time. Aveline, Bethany/Carver and romanced Merrill were the only ones who change!
-Bring back female dwarves!
-Race choice for the player character.
-More of the Qunari, mages/templars, Dalish, the dwarves, the Wardens.
-More screen-time for Flemeth.
-Friendship/rivalry system.
-The personality dialogue system (diplomatic/humorous/aggressive). I really liked that, made the responses more diverse.
-Some melee talents/spells for mages. Just a few for a battlemage build.
-Some more customisation (like some new tattoos).
-The Fade (done in the slightly more interesting style of DA2). More demons, spirits, etc.

New character choose race . More playable characters than i had in DA2 of different races that i can fully customise. A deeper more traditional RPG like Origins. Romances yes. Finishing moves are needed like in Origins beheadings are great.

- If no race choice, have origins anyway, there are many ways a human can start their adventure in Thedas (I still think of Hawke as the long lost Human Commoner Origin from the first game, he/she even got to Ostagar! Not sure how that was related, but it popped into my head.)

I want a way to customize my armor somehow

Better looking armor for mages, those robes look horrid.

Trying to prove that not all mages are blood mages is hard if every mage you help in the end goes all blood crazy

More tattoo variety would be cool

Keep the Mabari set up as an add is cool!

More party interaction !

First off, I am creating my list under the assumption that we will be heading off to an Exalted March type thing in da3... which I understand might not be true. But, if we are I think it would be neat to see a few party members that you would only get for choosing one side or the other.

Can I have my arcane warrior back? XD

More options to initiate conversations like we had in DA:O

Not have the NPC's and companion ignore if I'm a blood mage/woman/baby eater ;P not that being a woman is bad but Sten was confused by it so why wouldn't the Arishok be?

I'm sure there is more for me to write but this is all for now.

Oh and a tal-vashoth companion!

* Replace friendship/rivalry with the approve/disapprove system from Origins

* Ability to conversate with companions anywhere, not just once in a great while at their home base.

*Ability to customize companions appearance(in terms of wardrobe). Adds to an overall better RPG experience

*Make it a much more open-world experience

*I'm fine with combat staying the way it is, although a return to Origins combat or something similar would recieve no complaints from me, but enough with enemies falling from the sky or literally appearing out of thin air right next to me in perfect range for deadly attack, it feels cheap. Excluding stealth assassins of course.

*Make it feel like a sequel more. Add more references (and maybe characters) from Origins and II. Players that are new to the series can easily catch up on the events of the 2 previous games with 5 mins of reading. Please consider giving us loyal DA fans a more connected, rich expereience.

*Make it so potions, stamina droughts, bombs etc don't have a cool-down time. If we wanna waste 'em all foolishly let us deal with the consequences.

*Make loot more....interesting. It has a very bland feel to it in II, in Origins it was OK.

*Make our in-game choices have a major impact on the overall story.

*Make our saved data import from previous DA games matter more, and please make it so dead characters actually stay dead. I murdered Zevran after the ambush in Origins yet there he was in that cave in II. Things like this are crucial to a rich, satisfying RPG expereince.

*PLEASE bring back Morrigan or at least tell us what happened to her. And it shouldn't be a universal thing. Meaning, however our Warden's relationship ended with her, that's how it should play out. Someone who chose to go through the mirror with her should have a different expereince then someone who didn't, and likewise with people who never played Witch Hunt or Origins. Please make our choices regarding her matter. The relationship between the Warden and Morrigan is, imo, one of the most epic and emotional relationships in gaming history, Full of anxiety, love, hate, deisre, jealousy, second-guessing, misery and happiness. It struck a perfect balance as well, nothing about it feels lacking or overdone. PLEASE tread carefully with this, whatever you do.

+1 ... Nothing to add really.

Massive +1 ... Having every one dressed the same in 10 years time felt well ... daft. From personal experience, everyone buys new clothes once in a while. Especially women.

Combat system from DA2 is fine. Combat system from DA:O is fine too. Stealyh assassins ... please for the love of god ... make them counterable somehow or at least take some power away from the b'stards ... On nightmare they just disappear and 1 hit the healers / 2 hit tanks, then disappear again.

If "the time is right" do so.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also ...

* Crafting in DA:O made much more sense. In DA2 I'll find ONE elfroot and I can make 1279843178 elfroot potions from it. How ?

* NPC's that seemed to know Hawke quite well after 1st year in Kirkwall ... (Elegant ... "Lady Elegant" anyone?). Simple side quest "go there and grab us 10 potions" could have sorted this out.

* Skills ... Bring them back !

-Pickpocket -There was some party banter between Varric/Isabella and Fenris(?) about pick pocketing, yet I can't rob anyone...
-Lockpicking/Disarming traps - Get rid of 10/20/30/40 cunning thing or at least hide it.
-Persuasion/Intimidation - Felt non existant in DA2
etc ...

* Sneaking instead of fighting (Comming in the next DLC by the sound of it), sweet talking instead of fighting, lying to avoid the fight (implemented on a tiny scale in DA2 - MOAR!), generally - make fights less common, or at least make it possible so that we don't have to fight every single group that we encounter.

* "Improves with level up". At least on items with their own codex entries. Something that is supposed to be powerfull was later outclassed generic stuff later in the game ...

* Consequences... Nothing good or bad really happened in DA2 no matter what the choices were.

I'll probably remember some more things later ...

On a completely unrelated note - Posting from Opera seems to be very painfull for some reason :(

1st EDIT:

Graphics ... Comparing Origins and 2 boxes ...
DA:O - HD 720p *1080p
DA2 - HD 720p
The hell?

Quests ... No more "I've found something, one of the NPCs somewhere, which I've had no dealings with and to be honest I'm not really aware of his/her existance must have lost it. Lets take it back for 50 silvers" please... Chanters board, gossip in the tavern, any clue as to those types of quests.

2nd edit - Riddles, puzzles ! Legacy had a few ...

No frame narrative - It felt too disjointed in DA2

No returning companions/NPCs - You guys went overboard with this in DA2. I wanted seeing the character again to feel special, it was like everyone had a holiday house in Kirkwall/Free Marches.

No shiny floors - It makes those long corridors/big rooms you guys like to use feel even emptier than you already make them.

Put the isometric camera back - I liked using it for large battles.

Less junk more loot - Majority of the time my inventory was filled more with junk that didn't add up to much of anything

Add pickpocketing back - You could get some decent money this way, not to mention I loved the banter the warden had with one of the guards in Denerim during the Crime Wave quest when you had to complete the Master Tilver mark.

Slideshows - I liked seeing the slideshows at the end of the game and seeing what people turned into later on. Getting letters of thank you and how they are currently doing didn't work for me.

Property - Owning the mine in DA2 was fun, but I never found out what became of it. It would be nice if we do own something in DA3 that we get to know what happens to it later down the road.

If we are going to join a guild, let us play it. That looked like it would have been fun.

Quest boards - Make more use of the quest boards! I mean that's why they are there right? So you can do some side quests.

Family - I'd like to get to know my family before we are thrown into a battle and start quarreling. And I don't mean getting to know them through codex. I want to talk to them one on one and stuff.

No character armor - I mean it didn't even change that much for the majority of your companions.

Pathing - The AI still get stuck trying to figure out how to go around walls.

AI intelligence - Even if I tell m companions to hold they still want to charge in to battle. Mages also find it necessary to be in range of the enemy's sword in order to attack them with magic. This needs to be fixed.

Protagonist intro- I don't want to see the default character when hearing my story being told. I want to see the custom character I created.

Protagonist ending - If Dragon Age is about Thedas, then give our protagonists endings that are not so open that people think their character gets another round at a title.

There was another thread that addressed DA2's shortcomings that could just be copied and pasted here. But in general I would say: More sex, less violence. More boobs, less exploding noobs. But then again, this is a North American culture, so I do not hold out hope for a "make love, not war" approach.
