I have finished once and only could find 3 sites, and I have been looking. Now I have three different chars almost at the end again and still I can only find three (3). Apart from the agonizing dilemma faced as a mage finding the other lyrium sites is getting to me.
Can someone say cause searching is hopeless.

The wiki lists the lyrium resource locations as follows:


Lyrium - 9

• Act 1: 5
  
  • 1 Bone Pit Mines(The Bone Pit Quest), 1 Runaway's Cavern (Act of Mercy Quest), 2 Deep Roads, 1 Tal-Vashoth Cavern (Blackpowder Promise Quest)
• Act 2: 3
  
  • 1 Bone Pit Mines (Cave Crawling Quest), 1 Dank Cave (Forbidden Knowledge Quest), 1 Rotting Cave (Forbidden Knowledge Quest)
• Act 3: 1
  
  • 1 Sundermount Caverns

Oh yes exactamont, but I am guessing that if you miss them in 'the act' you cannot go back,
They must be cleverly hidden or I am just not exploring every nook, though I am trying.

Yes, unfortunately, the resources are Act-specific. And they are tucked away in some odd nooks. A lot of them are around corners, or in places that don't seem to be accessible but actually are.
