I have no opinion on that.
Same-Sex Relationships could be an absolute disaster for the characters.

I think the term is celibacy or sexual abstinence or continence. One of those I think.
The Garrus and Tali romances are certainly not one of sexual abstinence or continence. They are in love with Shepard as a person, not as a human, because it is physically impossible for them to have sex in conventional means. This doesn't stop the unconventional means, however. There IS attraction there.
So why can't someone of the same gender and/or species drop their barriers and be attracted to Shepard, as Garrus and Tali both did?
ME2 shows it's not impossible

It actually doesn't. I'm saying I have no opinion on it because I don't want to get into a big argument over the Tali and Garrus romance. And also because what am I supposed to say about something that already happened, regardless of how anyone feels about it?

Isn't falling in love with a human different enough?
"Oh, it's okay, because he/she has SOME of the correct corresponding bits and pieces, forget that we can't even reproduce."
Garrus has no attraction to humans, yet can fall in love with Shepard as a person. So someone like Kaidan or Ashley can't fall in love with Shepard as a person?

The differences shouldn't matter much, considering that their reproductive systems are completely different. Even their body structures and ideas of attractiveness are different (fringe, for example). So there's actually no reason why Garrus or Tali should be physically attracted to Shepard, except that they are in ME2 when they weren't in ME1, and it took an emotional attraction to break that barrier.
Sounds a lot like what we've been discussing here.

their body structures not so different, 2 legs 2 hands and quarians are mammals btw. We can a very long time discus why they not show interested in Shepard in ME1 and decide to show it only in ME2, but the fact remains that it happened, they are LI and now it's part of their characters.RinjiRenee wrote...

Same gendered people of same species have two legs and two hands as well, and incompatible reproductive systems.
Yes, they became LI when they were previously not available. See where I'm getting at here?

Female turians, for instance, share about as many secondary sexual characteristics with female humans as they do with male humans. For a character who is not an explicit xenophile (as with Garrus, who outright states he is not attracted to humans on a physical level, and becomes involved with Shepard because he is emotionally attracted to her), the heterosexual/homosexual dichotomy feels arbitrary. If Garrus can overcome the fact Shepard is of an entirely different species, one he is not sexually attracted to in any way, why are his/her genitals even an issue?

Perfectly agree. In fact, I wrote to the team in the hope that they would, at the same time, implement a clearer "friendship" path with romanceable characters, no matter what the genders are.78stonewobble wrote...
Atleast it should be a bit more obvious which conversation options initiate "romance" and choice of answers that are more meant in a more friendly manner.

Honestly I am against same sex stuff in games. Why? Because as soon as a game adds it. Ever new game or sequel, the gaymers start wanting ever npc to be gay in some way. Honestly if you want a realistic game then not everone is gay. Thats where I see a problem, like in dragon age 2 everone being gay I thought was stupid. The only 2 stright people you couldn't romance. Honestly if you are going to add some s/s then don't make everone a raging ******.

... the love interests were bisexual. There IS a difference.
But there are going to be s/s options for everyone this time around, so there isn't much use bawing over it now.

Secondly let me also point out that the LIs in DA2 are NOT homosexual. Only Hawke has the option of being Homosexual. The LIs are Bisexual (or heterosexual if you play as a FemaleHawke in the case of Anders).
Bisexuality is a different thing from homosexuality. Specifically its liking both sexes.
Thirdly also let me point out that while the 4 LIs in DA2 are all "bisexual" there is in actual fact less gay and bisexual NPCs that are not companions in the game than there was in DAO.
So it is hardly "everyone" being turned into a "raging ******".
Actually when I think about it I find you incredibly offensive. Not to mention completely wrong.

One thing you should learn: people are never satisfied. You won't be satisfied until homosexuals are out of your game and the homosexuals won't be satisfied until they're in it.

Honestly, gays are in the game. It's more realistic that way.
Edit: and, by the way, in Dragon Age II everyone's BIsexual, not HOMOsexual.
