Same-Sex Relationships could be an absolute disaster for the characters.

I was a little disappointed at that. And I'm considering playing through with a girl just to hear him say it and then implement that he told my canon male Shepard it.
About the gay/lesbian part. I don't really mind, just as long as my male buddies doesn't come on to me out of the blue. And don't make everyone ******. 1 or 2 from each gender is more than enough. VS + 1 ME2 LI for example. Kaidan was considered to be gay in the first game anyways, he just never dared to come out.

That's a problem with most LIs in general. Too much information is reserved for romance sublots and considering players usually romance only 1 character in each playthrough, we often end up not getting to know alot of background of the characters we didn't choose to romance, straight or not.Exolyps wrote...
What I'd love to see, is more friendship integration. I read around on the forums how Garrus tell people about his past team. Why can't he tell his bro that?! We've been through so much! Do I need to **** him to have him tell me a little about what happen during the two years?

There will most likely be new characters (or familiar characters who we've met but haven't been in the squad). I'd be surprised if the S/S LIs in ME3 were ME/ME2 squadmates.

Oh, I wouldn't. As I recall reading they mentioning something about there being no new LIs, but the old one could be opened up for... yeah, to give more to the players. Or rather to feed those players that wanted to play it their way

Make of that what you will.

If you listen in on Ashley's message it is pretty clear she was into men based on comments about Kaidan being cute.
I am also pretty sure Kaidan would not have gone into this whole Rahna story if he was interested in men. It was pretty clear to me he was in love with her.
Garrus wouldn't have gone into this whole story of reach and flexibility with a Turian female if he was interested in men.
Bioware has established these characters in my mind through these stories and to see them change would annoy me. Either make them bisexual from the beginning or don't do it at all. I had no problems with all the LIs in DA2 being bisexual because they were all new to me. I know others had an issue with Anders but I never played DA:A. I am glad I didn't play it or I would have been annoyed about the changes as well. To this day, I will never play DA:A because of the Anders situation. He will always be DA2 Anders to me.

Yeah, I did read about the decision to include S/S romances was made after "no new LIs". I did get the impression that it would be the old characters though. Must have missed the part of there will be new LIs. I must say thought I'm not sure I like the idea, but as long as it doesn't take away from the other characters I won't complain.
Oh, and make Jack BI xD

He is basically saying he doesnt want another DAII where Anders is suddenly homosexual and you are forced to get negative points because Anders seems interested after 2 conversations. I agree. No rewriting the sexuality of pre established characters. I need that banner. Seen it somewhere.

You've got to be kidding. I'm gobsmacked at the paucity of that thought process.
IsaacShep has posted more in this forum recently than just about anyone I can remember. He's active in the FftL group and regularly posts in detail. Go back and look at his account and posts before throwing ridiculous accusations around.
Heck, if we're judging people to be trolls by their join date/registered games and not what they post, every new poster would be one.
For that matter, who are you? Why are you posting on this thread, apart from calling people trolls? Do you have anything constructive to contribute?

He's a troll. He's posted that he's 21 and fallen inlove with someone on this site, also that he's just out of a 3 year relationship and also posted pics of himself where he looks 12... maybe 14 at the most. Just ignore him and take his name down for future reference.
Anyway on topic. I'm glad BioWare are working on greater character development and including s/s content.

I just hope they don't make existing characters like Garrus gay, that would ruin his character for me. He and Shep are like best buds, if he came onto me that would just destroy it. I get the feeling they're going to do that with Kaiden though. It wouldn't be too surprising, his dialogue on Horizon was pretty...questionable, and he was always a wuss.
So, according to you, gay/bi guys are wusses?
Anyway. It's not really ruining a character if their sexuality is "changed." Changed is probably a bad term, considering it could simply be "further explored." Maybe pre-existing male ME characters didn't hit on Mshep because they thought HE was straight. Maybe, in ME3, if you want your shep to be gay/bi, there's a sort of tentative, coming-outy feel to some of the relationships.
We can't really know for sure.

This is why I hate commenting on the whole bisexual thing. I could care less if Anders spoke of a fling with guys. He was written in DA:A as a heterosexual and then turned into a bisexual in DA2. The point is BIOWARE did not acknowledge him as a bisexual and clearly presented him as a heterosexual so in most people's mind he was heterosexual not bisexual. These are not real people. They are characters created by a game developer who chose to present them as heterosexuals. If the developers tell me femshep cannot romance Ashley clearly their intent was for Ashley to be a heterosexual regardless of what she says to femshep. To change that in ME3, is rewriting the character in my opinion.
As for the comments on Horizon, they could easily be a considered friendly. A best friend would want to know the same thing. If you considered that friend like a brother or sister in arms, yeah losing them could feel like losing a limb especially with all you two went through. As I said, Bioware's released game intention was Kaidan is heterosexual. All I am fighting for is character consistency.

As I see it, intention was that you could date him if you played as a female. Nothing about him being secretly interested in the male Shepard or not.
Take Tali for an example, she was interested since the start, but never dared to come out saying it for various reasons. So why can't Kaidan be the same?
And I'm sure that, unless you hit on Kaidan, he'll stay perfectly straight in your game. At least I hope they do it that way, so that your own canon can have the caracters as straight (without embarrassing dialogs) while other peoples canon can have them as gay/bi.
I for one wouldn't want Garrus to start hitting on me, I rather help him get that cute Turian girl we picked up in Palaven (or rather will if BW lets me, but yo get my point xD).
But I the same time wouldn't mind if some other player started hitting on Garrus. It's their choice, and as long as it's not forced one me, so it it won't effect my game, my canon, I'm cool.

This is my view also - but that being said, I'm not arguing strongly for any particular option other than people accept whatever it is Bioware choose to do.
We have no idea what two years without Shepard - and seeing her/him dead - did to Ashley and Kaidan, who are, let's remember, the oldest squadmates to have 'known' the Commander from the first game.
I'm not saying it's automatic that they could be bisexual. But if written well enough I think continuity can be maintained - we saw that well enough with Tali's 'unspoken' attraction to Shepard throughout ME/ME2.
One thing I'd like to know, though - people have said the VS were portrayed in ME as "heterosexual" by Bioware, as though it's obvious to tell from a few minutes of conversation with someone what their sexual orientation is. If the argument is that they only talked about opposite-sex romances, and so can't be bisexual, I'd have to disagree.
Kaidan talked about Rahna because the experience of biotic training scarred him for life and pretty much defines his character. In the cut maleShep romance, he never mentions Rahna by name and instead presents her as a random girl who he protected out of kindness rather than love. Nothing he says precludes an attraction to the same sex as well as the opposite sex.
Ashley never explicitly states her heterosexuality either. I'm not saying it wouldn't be implausible, but it's possible. And if it's possible, Bioware can create authentic dialogue.

Anyways the continuity look for me... Only base it on the fact that s/s romances weren't possible in me1. Meaning the ingame options for the player.

We all see things differently.
I have seen folk claim in this thread that Kaidan and Ashley were totally intended to be totally heterosexual, and that there is no evidence that they intended those companions to be bisexual.
Whereas I see it completely differently; not sure about Ash and FemShep but definately felt like Kaidan was flirting with/interested in my MaleShep; I was a bit surprised when I read on the forums that Kaidan wasnt an SS option cos it definately seemed to me like he was.
Also I would like to put this arguement about intent of the original LIs being bi or not by saying that I am SURE I read a post from one of the devs that said that Kaidan and Ashley WERE originally intended to be bisexual but those romances were cut at the last minute due to time constraints.
This is supported by the fact that if u manipulate the game into letting you romance Kaidan/Ash as ss the romances are complete right up to the love/sex scene itself.
If it wasnt originally intended why do they have lines/conversations pertaining to it? You do the same in ME2 and the characters have no dialogue and just freeze up during the romance convo's.
