Same-Sex Relationships could be an absolute disaster for the characters.

You are correct.
As I said earlier the problem isnt restricted to sexuality. It is a problem that afflicts ALL the romances in ME2.
No one answered my question though.
Perspective matters here. People's perspective changes how they see things.
I found the ME2 romances to be a bit Ninjamancy; but someone else might find them really obvious.
How do you account for all these differing viewpoints?

You seem to have a narrow view of body odor. Sounds like you are judging something you don't understand(sound familar). Different people have different smells. Deodorant only goes so far. In fact personal hygiene might have nothing to do with it. I knew a guy who had a fish smell. He was as clean as anyone else, but he smelled like fish.RinjiRenee wrote...

Why not? Are you saying it is ok to treat some who smells as a lesser person then someone who is gay? Both are things someone may not like.
Personal hygiene isn't the same, guy. I can tell someone to take a shower, and I sure in heck will. I can't tell someone to stop being gay/bisexual.
They don't make Speed Stick for sexual preference.
P.S. You can tell anyone anything you like. You just might not like the response.

The level of stupidity in this thread is the epitome of reason. First people are annoyed because all characters are bisexual, then people are annoyed because there are s/s romances without bisexuality involved. Would all characters being heterosexuals make everyone happy? No, hell no.
Gay people have been dealing with games where there only are m/f romances for quite some time while all of you were really enjoying it. Now that we have our opportunity to really enjoy a S/S romance in a big game, you want to whine? For crying out loud, where is your common sense? You are so blind. We're in the 21st Century... time to open your eyes.
I think people are talking about current LIs being made bi. I don't think this thread is about not having S/S romances at all.
I noticed it before posting... I do, however, think that we deserve to have our chance to romance the characters to whom we feel more attracted to. I'd love to have romanced Ashley, but could I? No.
For instance: let's say that in the first game Ashley was homosexual. Many men would've been devastated by that. If, in the third game, the development team said that she was going to have her sexual option rewritten, turning her into a bisexual woman, the men would be happy, they would be able to romance her.
Now, seriously... this is a freaking video-game. If you want the option, it's there. If you don't, it isn't. You take sh*t way too seriously.

Yes. I am close-minded when it comes to smell.
No to smelly LIs in ME.

So I want to ask. Have you ever heard of a man who has a wife and family - and after many years of trying to live the standard life - admits that he is gay?
Is it so unreasonable that not all gay people "activate" like robots - that some struggle with who they are and may try their hardest to be like the majority? ((Which, by the way, is why this topic is so personal to so many of them. Straight people get a pass on this - more like a "Welcome to the majority party! Grats!)
So - would it also not be unreasonable to say that this game isn't, and shouldn't be, about someone's "coming out story"? So - it might be better that the option is just available without some long winded diatribe about how Ashley thought she liked men, how for years she really tried and struggled with her sexuality, how her mother... blah blah blah... but now she realizes that FemShep is the one for her.
----
Of course, the option isn't reasonable at all if you have some problem with gay people. But that's a whole other issue.
---
I think some people might live somewhat sheltered lives. People go through all sorts of life changes - and things that were true at one point are no longer true in the future. It's called self-actualization.

Has the topic not been discussed a thousand times over already? If the OP feels necessary to start a new topic regarding this, at least think carefully about its title before giving off the completely wrong impression with its intentions.

1) I feel that the game should have character consistency.
2) People are having a discussion here (on this forum) about multiple topics (I'm talking about all threads on any subject) and taking them seriously. Why not this?

They were primarily ninjamancy for Male Shepard. Two out of the three Femshep Shepard romances in ME2 couldn't really be more obvious (Thane's "I want you", Garrus talking about working off stress through sex and Femshep saying "Work off stress together") and in ME1, Liara asks you about it.
Perhaps the writers just need to stop assuming you want to romance certain characters and let the player decide for themselves. Seemed like they really thought Femshep players should be into Jacob, and that was irritating. It would solve everybody's accidental romance issues if it was simply made clear what was going on, including the straight Shepards who aren't into the other LIs.
It's very curious that the ninjamances are brought up as a reason against S/S all the time when it's clearly more of an issue for female characters than male, though.

This. Character consistency is way more important them romance IMO. Waits for "but they never said their straight bs".

It's not BS; it's simple fact.
What you're concerned about is your own personal perceived character consistency, not actual character consistency.

I think the main problem is the lack of dialogue if you do refuse them, which you've brought up. I think the formulaic way romances work is annoying too. You can predict when that conversation is coming (4-5 convos in?). Be nice if they initiated in surprising places & times. It'd be nice if someone made a move in the heat of the moment.

1) I agree. Changing a sexual orientation does not make one to loose its values and to forget about moral and ethics, though. THAT is consistency.
2) A video-game romance isn't everything in life. Forums are created to open discussions, to try and find a balance between people's opinions; but too many people believe that their opinion is THE right opinion and that everyone else with different points of view should gtfo. That is wrong. And, when those people see that they are a very irrelevant minority, they start to appeal and to insult other people's LIFESTYLE.
