I like the Vindicator. Because of its low ammo, you really need to nail headshots. The Mattock is awesome but so overpowered I don't use it.

 Perhaps it's just because I always play a soldier, but my favorite will always be the Avenger.  That rifle is ol' reliable, more accurate than most weapons in the game, and can be used at ANY range.  Heck it's only real downside is the fact that it can't be used by everyone.

Tempest, Avenger, Revenant.

The only bad thing about the Revenant besides the lack of accuracy is that it's damn loud.  That's fine if you're living by yourself, but I'm not.

The Tempest is badass enough to make playing as a non-soldier a lot of fun, and the Avenger is "old reliable".

I don't own any DLC.  As for heavy weapons, I like the particle beam.  Very precise.  I hate the Cain.  It's a one-shot weapon with ******-poor accuracy.  I only put the Cain on my Duke Shepard, for a certain reason, if you get my allusion.

Revenant definitely my top gun, but I have to give alot of love to the Mattock, Eviscerator and Viper.

Another thing: When I play as a Vanguard, I use fully automatic weapons. The only time that I use a shotgun is when I'm hitting husks with loads of cryo rounds.

Typically my favorite weapons in shooters are sniper rifles, but ME has never really allowed for "true" sniping. With that said, the Revenant is my favorite weapon.

stupid question. was I the only one who used the M-3 Predator Pistol through the whole game even after getting the carnifex and other stuff? also, I can't see why everyone loves the Mattock so much. sure it hits hard and is fairly accurate, but the Vindicator is even more accurate and hits harder.
