One thing that really struck me is that how similar yet vastly different charcters Kaiden & Jack are.

On the one hand we have Kaiden, who was put through the very early stages of the Alliances very harsh biotic program. He also has an L2 biotic amplifier wired into himself causing him severe periodic migranes.

On the other we have Jack, who was put through extensive Cerberus biotic training and often had invasive proceedures performed on her.

Kaiden appears very introverted and conceals his trauma beneath a thick veneer, only opening up to Shepard once he was very friendly with him/her.

Jack is a chaotic borderline psychopath who wears her emotions for all to see. Her form of catharsis is blowing up the research station that once held her. She eventually relents, letting Shepard in only after really getting to know her and becoming intimate with her.

If Jack plays any major role in ME3 and shares ship space for a period of time with Kaiden, I think it would be cool if Kaiden mentored Jack and helped her get over her past.

Jack doesnt need training. she could "smear the wall" with Kaiden's body if she wanted to.

But she doesn't have self-control. Everything she does is to kill. Someone can have enormous amounts of strength and punch (and kill) a man but he needs a trainer so he isn't exhausting himself on everything and he doesn't need to go for the kill everytime. Doesn't matter if he can squash the trainer like a bug.

"Control you must learn control!"

"Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size do you? Hm? And where you should not!"
(these two are from when Star Wars was actually a good thing)

I was having the exact same conversation about Kaidan & Jack with my wife a few days ago. How they're both opposite sides of the same coin.

However, my conclusion was less that Kaidan would mentor Jack, and more that she'd be a bad influence on him and it would ultimately end up with them having steamy biotic bulkhead crushing hate-sex.

Not exact quotation from Purgatory because of translation back in English, but "strong girl. Not much about discipline" told by Zaeed makes me think Jack indeed needs some training - not to enchance her powers but to give her some more control.
But Kaidan? Despite all my love to him I doubt he's an ideal candidate - maybe because he isn't use to cope with such energies. Samara is another thing. Justicar training is rather dangerous - check. She is extremely powerful - check. She's extremely controlled and doesn't doubt while killing with biotics - check. If, of course, she will be a squadmate in ME3. If not and we're going to choose between Kaidan and Liara I'd say Kaidan, though

She'll never get that mentoring in any of my play throughs. Kaidan never makes it out of Virmire alive.

You mean how Sheploo is a good influence on her if it's a Paragon romance?

I like that idea a lot actually. I always asked myself why none of the biotic characters are talking about their experience and maybe sharing some skills with one another.

You would think Samara could comment on Jack's biotic prowess or something like that. Or that Kasumi and Thane could talk about stealth. Or Garrus and Zaeed can talk about calibrating weapons and some such.

It would be interesting to see Kaidan and Jack discussing their biotic experiences considering they are indeed the flip side of a coin.

So until Jack won't romance him Kaidan is safe?=]
BTW, it will be really nice if, instead of any squadmate, biotic maleShep would train her

One thing that DA2 did very well was have your party interact with themselves, the inter-personal relationships of your party was fun to behold. Hopefully the ME team will add this in, I mean DA2 took less than 1.5 years to make and the party interaction was far more fleshed out than ME2's.

It's an intriguing idea, squad interactivity with each other was a bit...minimal in ME2, but I think it'd be more interesting to have BioticShep train Jack in self control.

Jack would act dismissive towards any Alliance soldier and Kaidan is more or less a generic Alliance biotic. He would probably earn her respect later on, but even under best circumstances they'd never get really close. Kaidan is not the pushy type and Jack always makes sure to keep her distance.

The more I think about this the more I believe it would be a great idea. As the OP mentioned, Kaidan is most likely introverted with a classic green type personality where as Jack is damn near psychopathic and a classic extrovert and orange type personality.

Although Jack is a very deadily biotic she demonstrates on various occasions that she lacks self control; irregardless of Shep's interactions with her. Kaidan however, appears to be very grounded with the situations that he's encountered throughout ME1 and ME2. So another positive is this would be an excellent opportunity for some character development on both sides.

To the best of my knowledge Kaidan has achieved Spectre status in ME3 because of his actions throughout ME1, ME2 and whatever has taken place between the two games and leading up to ME3. So clearly there most definitely will be some character development that could be shown through Kaidan's interactions with Jack and/or Shep and vice versa.

Great idea OP!!!

I think interactions would be interesting between Jack and Kaidan although I don't see any mentoring type relationship between the two at all. Jack would more likely tell him to "**** off" than take guidance from him. She seems very much anti-establishment and is just starting to come out of her shell (by the looks of her dossier in LotSB).

He's a highly trained, disciplined man. She's an unstable loose cannon who bucks against authority. Despite both having gone through a "biotic camp," their experiences were very different. I think Jack would be the first one to spell that out for anyone who thought otherwise. I think these two would have a lot of conflict if they ever should meet up.

"Hey Jack, I'm Kaidan."

Dead.

I have my doubts that Jack and Kaidan would get along at all.

Really good idea. The big thing I felt ME2 was missing was interactions between squad members.

Meh. This scenario should not happen.

Jack would find Kaidan officious and a wet blanket. She'd probably vandalize his helmet with a frowny face.

Kaidan would waffle a bit, try to mentor Jack for a few minutes, then give up on Jack, then think about it, then maybe... if he's not busy mentoring someone else and she was willing, maybe, he'd think about mentoring her again. Then he'd go get drinks with some doctor on the Citadel.

Come on now. It's Jack, she'd put something way more offensive on his helmet than a frowny face. :P

The OP isn't suggesting biotic training.. more like emotional/mental mentoring..

I think Liara would be a better mentor for Jack. I think the fact that she's an alien would help Jack, since it was Cerberus, a human group, that caused all of her childhood trauma in the first place. Liara wouldn't inherit as much of that baggage.

For Kaidan, I see Miranda as a much more natural training partner/potential LI. They're just similar enough to have common ground, and just different enough to have tension/chemistry. Kaidan will strongly object to her Cerberus past, and she'll dislike his good-guy Alliance schtick. But after being together for an extended period of time, they would naturally end up together. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Miranda turned out to be Kaidan's childhood crush from Brain Camp, Rahna. After all, they're about the same age, and it's likely that Miranda's father sent her to Brain Camp rather than trying to duplicate their efforts himself on his own dime, rich as he might be. Unless her dad hired an asari instructor, she'd more than likely end up in Conatix's clutches along with Kaidan and every other biotic-potential child in human space. Remember, this is only a few years after First Contact, humanity was still fumbling in the dark with regards to biotics during that time.
