what firewall are you running? windows standard?

Norton, I think it automatically deactivates the windows firewall.

have you tried disabling it while running it. My Zonealarm firewall made the the game not download dlc, even though it had permission to do so

Nah disabling it didn't help
Still won't authorize. Weird thing is, that I could download and install the DLC's without any trouble at all. And they worked before, but they don't want to authorize even though it says that they are installed, really weird hehe.

hmmm. have you tried backuping and removing your profile, along with your dlc content that it has downloaded. a fresh start. backup and remove. manifest.xlm and addins.xml and remove all downloaded dlc under addins directory. everything I talked about should be in your mydocuments folder, under bioware, dragon age

All attempted fixes have failed for me too, if it's any comfort.
Only thing left to do is hope there's a patch or something released.

Would love an official response from the devs or something...

Yeah, or I hope they'll release a patch that makes it easier for the game to authorize the DLC's. Cause' this is just annoying.

This is happening to me also. It happened the other day and just restarting and messing around disabling and starting up that updater service again seemed to rejig it. But my Firewall is definitely not blocking it. Windows 7 here. The updater service IS running. I was playing fine until 1.01b but that could be coincidence. Its seriously irritating...
EDIT - Same procedure fixed it. Go into Start > type in 'services.msc' and run that. Then look for the Dragon Age Updater Service and open it up, disable it, then start it again. Close down dragon age, fire it back up. And then your DLC should register. I can't say if this will work everytime but it's worked twice for me. Either way I shouldn't have to do this to play my game. This needs fixing asap!

Yeah this made it authorize for me too
However, I still can't talk to Shale anymore, when I try to start a conversation the world buggs out and I can choose to say:
1. "Dulef Gar" (or something like that ) Activate the golem
2. Leave the golem alone.
So it seems to have reseted him or something, really annoying. Anyone else having such troubles with Shale ?

I also have that problem. I bought the Ultimate Edition, punched in the redeem code, and its still not authorized. I even fiddled with the AddIns.xml, but the game won't recognize any of the DLCs. I hope EA can just send a file we can overwrite the manifests for the DLCs with and authorize the things.

try and start services.msc<br />
windows start button, then run, then type "services.msc" and run it. (might be different if not using xp)<br />

You should get a list of services run in windows. lockup Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater<br />
and see if it's running
THANK YOU!!!

none of the downloadable content is authorized and I cant access it- how do I authorize it?

Check the stickies. Start with "READ FIRST". 99% of all solutions can be found by starting there. Often, simply patching to 1.05 solves DLC problems.

I know that this forum is pretty old, but I found a solution that works for me and I would just like to share it. Go to your Dragon age folder, and look for the _installer folder. then click on the DAOU_UpdateAdinsXML.exe file (the first couple times I clicked it would say error I just clicked ignore until it started running correctly and finished). Then click on the DAUServiceSetup.exe it will show a window with a load bar if you hit show details will be black background with green letters. once it says complete hit done load your DAOU game and go to DLC and Installed everything should be Authorized now!!! I hope this helps!
